This is an update of my previous build log, with additional notes and comments, as well as a new GPU.
I've really been enjoying the value of the 6500 I have, but I feel like I shot myself in the foot with the Z board. I had no idea I would be getting one (see previous build log for more info). Temperatures are constantly below 85 F which is crazy.
I still find this cooler is an excellent AIO for the money, despite most suggesting to shy away from water coolers. It was only 55 when I got (I used to not have to pay tax in Missouri, now we have 5 percent on online stores).
My RAM is now $130, holy crap. The demand for DDR4 is becoming crazy, but I still feel this ram was a great value, as I usually end up getting close to 8GB usage anyways with games and stuff running.
I lied previously when I said the mobo had two M.2 slots, unfortunately, it only has 1. This, of course, is fine for me as I don't plan on getting any new SSDs (although I may pick up a new 1TB drive. I keep getting bigger and bigger games.
Holy freaking crap this GPU is absolutely amazing. Nightmare (Crimson) 60+ fps on Doom. High-Ultra on Fallout 4 with some small drops (it recovers quite quickly). This is truly the card to get for high-end 1080p gaming (I also hear it does decent at 1440p). The MSI one itself looks great and has a pretty nice factory overclock (1310 MHz) but I got mine up to 1450 MHz (so far) Temps are fine, usually staying at 60 C to 70 C on load, which is normal.
After getting so many addons to my PC I'm starting to not like this case as much. It's starting to lack room in the back for wires, as they put cable management holes right where most of your main cables are going to, so you end up having like 4 to 5 cables bundled together. Other than that though I'm happy with it.
That's all for this build, but I've recently made a build for my little brother too, which I'll be uploading here as well. If you are interested, I have a video of me building my own PC here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_GVQdZGB-Q
