I've never tried this level of custom build before. As in making it all work AND look good at the same time. Used to be we'd just plug in the various AGP/PCIe/etc. cards, connect the MOLEX spaghetti to everything, shove it in a completely closed case with 2 pathetic, choked-off fans, and turn it on. That was nearly 15 years ago.

I went pre-built with my last system out of necessity, but had always wanted to get back into something I built. I've had my Dell XPS 8300 for a while now, and finally decided that it was time for an upgrade.

I may have gotten carried away.

Still needs some work on the lighting and the OC, but for the most part, she's done.

EDIT (28/05/18): Added a picture of the cable management at first attempt. Since I'm going to be adding an internal NZXT USB hub, I'll be redoing it all (hopefully better) soon.

Very nice build, quite similar to my own (same case).

One thing I would recommend is switching out the stock case fans for something better, they're not fantastic (no pun intended). I switched them out for the nzxt aer RGB fans (120 and 140mm), they're much quieter and move more air, but any good fan will be an improvement.

Enjoy your new rig :)

oh noes, where cable goes?

Cables are either hiding or not there yet depending on which picture you're looking at. I added a link to a new picture showing the progress I made.

the management tho its

is a clean build man. I'd do something about the cables though. cable management is your friend and looks clean AF

Didn't realize I had forgotten to post a picture of the cables after everything was hooked up. Link is below in the comments. It still needs some wok, but this case has awesome cable management, so even a bad job like mine still looks crispy.

They sure do! At least until you connect them all and hide them.

The real nightmare was at the back of the case. I added an image link below.

Ok, ok... you all keep asking about cables, so here goes.

Still needs a bit of work, but not bad for my first attempt.

hey mate nice build, I no joke have built almost the exact same system but I opted to have the professionals build it (still doesn't look as good as yours) but I'm having problems with a couple things and was wondering if you had any tips or similar problems. They installed both AI suite 3 and Cam, not all of my fans show up in the AI suite 3, not sure what to do or which to use, and it always annoys me if the temp gets to high My CPU sits around 4.5ghz and the temp sits low 50s , when CPU is loaded the temperature skyrockets my cooling can't seem to keep up at all any advice or similar situations would be good to hear from you Cheers Oscar
