I threw caution to the wind with this build and went all out! I've always been a fan of the Mini-ITX form factor. I came across the beautiful Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ITX TG case in white and immediately fell in love. With inspiration from another pcpartpicker user (white2002gt) the "White Monster" was born.
The case itself was a dream to work with. I recently had a Bitfenix Prodigy case that was great, but this Evolv case beats it hands down. My only small gripe is that the intake airflow is pretty weak so I will be modifying the front to allow more air to pass through eventually. Cable management is a dream as it includes 2 velcro hold downs that allow for clean routing. Paired with some zip ties I was golden.
This case also allows for a monster GPU. I was able to fit in (without ANY modification) the EVGA GTX 1080ti. So far, so good!
I'm running (2) Samsung 970 Evo 500GB M.2 SSDs in RAID0 for performance and this thing flies. I opted for the ASUS ROG Strix Z370 motherboard due to having 2 m.2 slots. I do not plan to overclock at this time, but do like the flexibility if needed.
This was my first build using the Noctua NH-D15S and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Very straight forward installation. My one tip would be to barely connect one of the mounting screws then start on the 2nd screw. It was a bit of a hassle to install with the motherboard already installed in the case but I made it work.
I know that 32GB of RAM is essentially pointless in a gaming machine, but I do sometimes use the computer to encode movies. I also upgrade my computer roughly every 4-5 years, so I wanted it as future proof as possible.
