Description

First attempt at pc building. Frig knows what its purpose will actually be but here it is. This thang here is for dreaming up a fantastic life together in The Sims 4 with my gal pal, stomping on goombas in Skyrim SE, and frolicking about in Fashion Guild Wars 2. Ultra settings!

Future use? Digital painting with Photoshop CS6? Photo editing? Big question mark on whether this will happen, thus the choice with CPU and board.

Important thing I learnt while putting this together: Don't trust something that doesn't fit flush.

Part Reviews

CPU

Good processor is good. The cpu cooler (push pins) was a breeze to install.

Motherboard

Lotsa features for the price. Suits my needs just fine.

Memory

Was lucky to get these on sale. Easy, quick installation. Looks fabulously simple as well. No problems encountered yet (hopefully never).

Storage

Great pal, still going strong after 7 years.

Video Card

Caught this on sale. My previous card was a Radeon HD 5570, and this one is BIG in comparison. Performs great. For the price, I couldn't ask for more.

Power Supply

Easy install. Ace product for the budget price.

Case Fan

I love orange. I picked this cause it was orange.

Keeps the components cool. Although, the LEDs aren't noticeably bright.

Custom

Pros: Plenty of space provided for cable management. 5 fans (120mm) can be installed.

Aesthetic wise, it is simple yet good looking. However, I do wish the white sleeves for the internal audio and usb wires were in black instead.

This was the cheapest case that appealed to my search for a simple look. Surprisingly, it does just fine.

Are we allowed to see anything other than the motherboard? :P

If anything check SMART data on that drive before putting too much data back on. Otherwise, solid budget build.

Why 1050 Ti when you could have gotten a 470 for $129, or a 480 for $149?

Here in the UK, everything's more expensive.

So... What happened with the I/O shield?

Coming from a retail bought desktop with a sturdy I/O shield, it seems flimsy.

Huh. How thick is it? Most I/O shields are ~1/5" - 1/6" thick.

Looks pretty cool, and I love that orange. Also good find with the 8gb of DDR4-2400 ram for only 40 GBP . +1

the G4620 is so underrated when compared to the G4560, as its just a little more expensive and has a higher clockspeed

After a few months, I am curious how is this system doing? I may try to build one almost just like it.

My biggest Question for you is is that Mobo still working ok? What about the I/O shield did you not like? Is it that bad?

it's been almost 6 months now and the system is still working great. The mobo has had no problems so far. The I/O shield isn't too bad, actually, it serves its purpose even though I'd prefer it to have been a bit thicker. Happy camper over here. :)

That's too daring for me. It's actually a wall clock disguised as a hat.
