Description

This is the first computer I have ever allowed myself to purchase/build. Please see the technical specs in detail section. I had to make a some-what custom modification to the case in order to equip the CPU cooler -but a visit to the hardware store solved the problem. Parts were ordered during the BitCoin mining -epidemic, so the video card was hard to find; as soon as one became available on NewEgg I bought it. Other parts are pretty standard and consistent in price (bought second set of VRAM a week after initial purchase); you could probably find most for a bit cheaper than I purchased them back in January 2018.

A little weird to see an i7-8700K with a 1050 Ti, but hey, you have good upgradability for the graphics card in the future. Other than that nice build!

I agree! 1050TI was the only one that I could afford/available at the time, but as you mentioned, this is subject to upgrade; very soon..... I've seen that GPUs have gone down in price over the past few days.

Yeah. Honestly the 8700k paired with the 1050 ti surprised me quite a bit at first lol. I agree though... the current prices are absurd. You're right about the recent price decrease though. I regret buying my 1080 for 800 about 3 weeks ago haha. Two weeks after I bought it I saw a MSI triple fan one for 660 on newegg... feels bad man...

I'm definitely going to upgrade to 1080 or 1080ti... Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. 1050ti was my temporary option at the time...

Yeah. I would recommend going on the "buildapcsales" reddit. It's updated daily, and you can find some really good deals on there. Who knows... you might be able to snag a gpu restock if you're lucky lol.

Will definitely keep looking at buildapcsales.

I've also been looking for recommendations for selling slightly used SSD drives. Does anyone have recommendations to this other than EBay?

It looks like you were planning to overclock, did you have any issues with the Extreme 4 mobo? I have heard there was some issues with that bios/ram and it deterred me from buying it.
