Description

This build is my daily PC for Work and of course gaming :)

I always wanted to do an SFFPC build but never got to it. Especially since the PC I’m upgrading from had a i7-4790k CPU which probably would have been good for another 2 years. Unfortunately, there were no used Mini-ITX mainboards with m.2 slots (Z97 chipset) available where I live, so I went with this new build.

Originally, I planned to put everything in a Louqe Ghost S1. However, it appears they don’t have stock. Furthermore, they didn’t answer any of my emails which is why I started to look for alternatives. The Nouvolo Steck offered everything I needed and was even a bit cheaper. Still, If you live in Germany like I do expect to pay another 40€ of customs fees. Overall I’m really happy with the Steck. Build quality is really well and all parts feel prime.

I expected thermals to be an issue with a small case like this especially with the I9-9900k. Hence, I replaced the stock fans of the Corsair 100i Pro with two Noctua NF-A12x25 pulling fresh air from outside through the radiator and into the case. This works really well. CPU Temps are idle at around 32C and after 15mins of max load at 72-74C. The 9900k runs at stock speeds.

Unfortunately not. However, I've heard good things about the Sliger Cerberus Micro ATX case :)

Damn but that is a nice looking SFF build. Never heard of the Nuovolo Steck before but I will look into it now.

I like how micro atx builds dont take up too much space, but i was always scared of them over heating lol. Its not really a fear if you build it right though. Good build.
