Description

I finally built a PC, thanks to my friends. One of them got me into the pc's, and another sold me his 2 week old parts. They called my CPU cooler the Allspark, so that's where the name came from. I got MOBO, CPU, and GPU for half off. I also found this HDD somewhere In my house. I loved this case when i first saw it, but it needed dust filters so i bought some for the top and the PSU. Overall I'm happy with this build, I can play BF4 and Ultra and a constant 60fps. I still plan to get a SSD, and another HDD for storage. I might get another 760 to sli, but maybe when I buy a game that i can't max. Need a fan controller, and LED fans to make it look more pretty and stuff. Oh and the LED's are blue, not purple.

Fun build, no major problems. The only thing i didn't like was the PSU cable, and the CPU cable, they look horrible. I don't have the best pc compared to my friends such as GalliumBeryllium, but I was on the lowest budget and I'm really satisfied with what I was able to get with my budget. A few more paychecks and it'll be pretty.

Update- Got MOAR Leds.
Update- Moved CPU Fan Update- Sleeves.

A description, good part choices and fit for purpose. Things like this are becoming far too rare.

Makes me wanna switch my H212 Evo for that Shadow rock. Where are they sold?

  • 2 points

I got mines off of NCIX for 50 after tax and shipping. Right now they should be 50 before tax and shipping. I was going to get the Evo at first, then I saw this and wanted it so bad, and it was on sale lol. It was the first thing I bought too.

That case! Love it.

Only concern I'd have is that the fan is blocked by the gpu... Can you relocate the gpu down to another slot without losing your x16 pci capabilities on that board? Or fit the fan on the top side to vent out that way, or to the left to gain the advantage of the case exhaust fan?

I want that case... lol

Lost a few degrees switching it over the ram, but I might try moving it to the top as pull, but as of right now, It's running really good even though it looks like the gpu is blocking the fan.

Not just that, but as your gpu heats up under heavy use, it will suck all that heat through the cpu cooler

Hm yea, I'll probably switch it to the top tonightt

Any reason for position of the CPU fan ?

  • 1 point

It wouldn't fit due to my ram, and I think it works out because of the position of the heat pipes.

I have been looking into headsets recently, what is your opinion of the G430?

  • 1 point

It's a decent headset, the dongle is pretty cheapish, the sound is nice. Not as nice as other headsets, like the Steel Series. Honestly you can't beat it for $40. But I'm not sure if its still on sale.
I think the only difference between the g430s, and the g230's is the usb dongle.
I would check out the Steel Series Sibera as well.

same. gamecube was the first piece of tech ive ever owned and i plan on making a Mitx (ive seen some motherboards that are folded, like... ram is regular ram but at 90 degree angle, you ge what i mean. and still have room for pci x16 slotsl.) with an APU inside for the HTPC.

well, could put a gameube ontop. ;)

I just found out that I can move my fan over the ram, It'll just sit a little higher, but when i tried it, my temps went up a degree or two. So i kept it like this.
