Description

The Cooler Master Vortex Plus CPU cooler was not fun at all to put on for starters. Fat fingers and mini ITX cases do not mix well. Not when everything is in the case and ready (i.e. memory, GPU, etc.).

I still have to work on cleaning up the cables D: but I'm so lazy...

Computer runs super smooth though! No hiccups! it is used mainly for gaming and Twitch streaming. FPS I've seen using Borderless Windowed mode was as high as 90FPS.

Running on the CM Vortex @ 3.9GHz:

  • idle: 42C
  • gaming + streaming: 55C
  • Prime95 Blend Test: 64C
  • Prime95 SmallFFTs Test: 78C

On the original CPU Intel cooler, I was hitting 100C using the SmallFFTs almost instantly and it would take maybe about 15-20 seconds for the Blend to hit 100C, and then the CPU would throttle itself from 3.9GHz and back the clock down.

How come you only got a 750ti? Maybe spent a little less on the PSU, and got a 960 or 280? Oh well, great build regardless.

A lot of sexy black there. You should update with the Vortex's performance.

Would've spent less on fans and more on GPU.

You know that the 4690k already goes up to 3.9ghz with intel turbo boost enabled right? When you specified 3.9ghz, do you mean that you're running it at 3.9 constantly?
