Description

Not sure why I built this, mostly just something to do! Right now I'm running ubuntu on it to learn programming. The only moving part in it is the PSU, so it may end up being my HTPC.

CPU haven't tried overclocking it yet, but definitely will soon.

Cooler Had this from a previous build but never ended up using it. Love the double heat pipe design and without fans it still keeps the 3258 at ~26 degrees on idle, and haven't seen it go over 40 yet. It takes up the whole insides. (Insert joke here)

Motherboard used this board before on another low end build and it did fine. The layout is good for this case since most of the connectors are on the bottom.

RAM pulled this out of my parts drawer, both sticks recognized and running fine at 1333mhz. If I ever put this thing to major use I may invest in some higher end sticks.

SSD got it cheap, and won't be putting anything major on it, does the job.

Case Love this case. I paid 39.99 from NCIX, but shipping was 15, freaking canadians man. Its even smaller in person than I imagined, and took a lot of finaggling to get everything in there with the big ol heatsink. If you want this case, spend the extra money on a modular power supply.

PSU solid lil guy, and the only part that makes noise in this thing. (which is still minimal).

Let me know what you think.

How difficult was it to build in that case?

I think it all depends on the heat sink you use. It was super difficult with my setup since the HS is ~80% of the open area. If you take the top and sides off, and make all the cable connections outside the case it isn't too bad - may need an extra set of hands.

Sweet case. Saw it featured in an NCIX video just a few days back. Got any internal pics?

An air heavyweight like the TC14PE on a G3258? :P Interesting choice.

Nice build; I really do like the finish on the Metis.

Nice build mate! Ubuntu is a perfect choice too!!! I have a question about the cpu cooler. If you want to put a GPU in it, does your cooler interfere? I think yours has a 140 fan mount i want to put a cooler with 120mm fan and as I see your CPU ,as in mine is not in the center but above the PCIE slot. I am asking because i don't want to buy one if it doesn't fit. I will appreciate any answer. Thank you

Depends on the gpu, psu and orientiation of this one. I can easily fit a single slot card in the pcie slot, and an evga 750ti in the pcie slot, but evga usually has the thinnest gpus.

Thanks! I love it too, such a great case for something small but still nice to look at.

Yeah, I will most likely plop plex on it when I repurpose it, for the time being I just migrate my chromecast around, I'll try and get some internals tonight.
