Primarily use this computer for gaming. Last computer I built was in the summer of 2012, and its age started to show when I tried playing games like Fallout 4 and Overwatch. Equipped with the GTX 1070, this computer maxes out most settings on my 21:9 ratio monitor on games like Witcher 3 and Fallout 4. Cutscenes on ultrawide screens are absolutely fantastic. I could have waited for better prices on some of the components, like the GPU, but I'm pretty happy with this build.

My budget was ~$999, but I decided to get an unlocked processor for better CPU core clock speeds. I wanted a more compact PC because I don't have much space in my room to put it. The mini ITX components at the time were more expensive than mATX components, so I went for that.

Its name is Jimbo.

Part Reviews

Overclocking is very stable with the H100i CPU cooler. Does what I need it to do.

CPU Cooler

A hefty cooler with great performance. Only thing is the tubes are not very flexible.

Has enough I/O ports to satisfy 90% of users. No USB-C port, which might be a turnoff for some. I might probably want it in the future, but for now it's good.

Intel XMP was easily managed on MSI's BIOS. The DIMMs run at the advertised speeds. Nothing to complain about here.

Gotten as part of Amazon Prime Day Deal. Enough space for my games and files. Excellent read and write speeds.

Video Card

Maxes out most settings for games in 21:9 aspect ratio. Really enjoying the framerates and performance. Haven't really touched the clock speeds yet.

Cable management is good, space gets a bit tight for those with beefy graphics cards like the 1070. Front panel audio port for some reason is very tight, and takes a lot of work to put in a 3.5mm jack. Did not realize how compact it would be.

Power Supply

Cheap and efficient. Can't say much more about it.
