Description

Well hello everyone. Its been awhile since I have updated my build. Just to clear something up really quick before the comments go crazy, I originally built this computer on May 10th 2013. I did not buy the FX chip recently at all alright. Now that thats clear, this computer has been so good to me. It has never let me down. I can play any game I want at 4K ultra at over 40FPS. That is why I haven't upgraded the cpu in the last almost 5 years. I'm into cars more than gaming right now as well.

I have no theme, unless you fancy wood, ply wood walls, with a modern computer and an old lamp. I don't really care though. I personally think my set up is really clean. I take pride in a clean desk and good cable management. Everything just works and its been that way for over a year now.

The Titan X (Pascal) is an awesome card. Yea, I'm not getting the full potential out of the card but at least I can play 4K. People say the FX chips are not very good anymore (some say they weren't good from the start) but really, they aren't that bad. I don't recommend buying one in 2017-2018, but if you have one now and it's serving you well, there is no reason to spend your money. Save it for the next gen or the next. Or just buy another car (lol)

The speakers are really good. I highly recommend them. Nice crisp sound and enough bass to feel it on the desk. They are at a good price and come with a remote as well.

The IBM Model M keyboard is in my option, one of the best keyboards ever made. The sound they make and the feel is just something you don't get with modern keyboards. Ill never get rid of it.

The CAD U37 mic is very good for the price. Pretty crisp sound and good for talking online or making YouTube videos. I recommend it highly.

I have a lot of hard drives, and I want more lol. The two 5tb are for photos and videos from over 40 years ago till now. Some of the others I've gotten over the years and have thrown in there. The caviar green is 9 years old now and still going strong. I really like western digital green drives.

As you can see, I do have a few RC cars. We are going to go from left to right , First one is a Traxxas Stampede 4x4 VXL. Lots of upgrades on this one. If anyone wants to know what they are just comment below. The next was my first RC car. It's a Exceed RC Sunfire with a Traxxas brushed internals. And the last one is the best one. Its a Traxxas slash 2WD. This car is really fast, over 80mph+ on 4s lipo. If you put 6s in it, it could easily do 100mph. If you want a list on that car as well just comment below.

All the pictures were taken on a Canon 70D with a 18-135 F3.5-5.6 lens. All the pictures are RAW and unedited.

Sorry about the photos being not as sharp or a little blurry. It was getting dark outside and I had to have the shutter speed lower. The auto focus wasn't cooperating ether. I hope you still enjoy my setup. I've always wanted to get featured so lets see what happens. Thanks!

Caleb

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU to get back in the day. Still does alright today as long as you don't stress it too much. I play 4K so its mostly GPU power than CPU power.

CPU Cooler

It is a pretty good cooler. Works well on the FX 8350. I have tried to overclock but haven't tried again in awhile.

Thermal Compound

I've used a whole tube now and it is great stuff.

Motherboard

Great board. Lots of features and a very nice Bios. Wish it had more sata ports but then again I don't need this many hard drives.

Memory

Its RAM. Its 16GB. Yep

Storage

Great ssd. Boots pretty quick.

Storage

Got it for free from my grandmas old computer.

Storage

Got for free from a work laptop.

Storage

I've had this drive since 2009 and has been awesome. Still going good and is very quiet. Really nice.

Storage

Got them for mirroring and mass storage. Working great for the last year

Video Card

Oh where do I start. It's a monster. When I clicked "order' i thought "did i just make a pricey mistake?" I got to say I've been loving it. It gets very warm and I'd recommend water cooling it. Other than that its an awesome card.

Case

Great high quality case. Good room and "ok" air flow. Lots of nice features.

Optical Drive

This isn't the exact one I have, but it does all the same stuff. Very nice.

Operating System

Its an operating system. It has Forza. Yeet

Monitor

All I can say is its AWESOME! I got mine refurbished from Asus for $278 and it's great.

Lol this is officially the largest bottleneck I have ever seen. I love it.

You should totally make this a nominee for setup wars. I think this whole build and setup is so mismatched and unique that it is probably better than the ones you see around with the RGB lights and 8k monitors.

I did in the past. Maybe I should again. I never got onto it.

Thanks! In 1080p you can definitely notice it, but at 4k, it’s putting more stress on the gpu so it all works out.

Thats way more of a bottleneck than I've got, Been using a Ryzen 7 1700X with a GTX 1050 Ti for a while now, not that great of performance lol.

You have more of a gpu bottle neck then. The gpu can’t keep up with your cpu. I’d rather have that kind of bottle neck lol.

FX chips aren't really that bad. Couldn't agree more. At 4k I don't suspect you are seeing much of an issue. Want to really ramp it up. Buy another Titan and really upset some people.
