Description

Basically my computer in a nutshell. Fit with less than perfect cable management and cats. You know, Bdogz stuff.

Part Reviews

CPU

Handles modern day games better than my i3 8350k by a landslide. Was considering staying with a 8th gen i5 but decided to jump to the 9th gen because why not.

CPU Cooler

Pretty good AIO, better than the EVGA CLC I used previously but the pump noise can get annoying and the price is a little steep for a 240mm radiator. Really cool infinite mirror block though and CAM software is very helpful with overclocking plus has really good customization. Looks amazing in the build and keeps the CPU cool.

Memory

Wanted something that looked cool but didn't want RGB RAM as I personally dislike RAM that is RGB. This was very high profile and almost didn't let my NZXT Kraken fit with it's logo right side up but it fit and it looks really good.

Storage

This SSD is actually not bad despite it's price point and can boot Windows on my PC at around less than 10 seconds.

Video Card

Actually does very well in modern games despite the bottleneck issues it has with my CPU. Will be replaced eventually but does hold its weight for what I do with it.

Case

I personally don't like cases with so many curves and lines that it looks like you gave a second grader a ruler and a pencil and told him to draw something. I prefer simple and minimalist cases. While the case looks good with the glass side and LED accent lights in the front. The allen screws on the glass are a pain to remove at times and cable management is difficult to do in this case.

Case Fan

For the price it isn't that terrible and looks good giving ambient light into my case. Airflow was improved with these fans.

Keyboard

Switches are amazing, the lower switch feels better to touch then other Cherry MX switches I have used.

Mouse

Good, but have had mouse wheel issues with it.

How many extra frames does the cat give?

i5 9600k? That feels like it wasn't worth it at all. With this £2000 budget you could have gone 2080+i7. Plus you get 32gb of ram because.. why?? And you also only have 1.28tb of space. You could have had much better components, that 32gb really hammered your money there.

Honestly, feels a bit like on some days you wanted to go all out, and others you wanted to budget, but you never thought about putting them together, lol. Still, cat approves, so what do I mean?

Yes and No. I recycle old components and put them into computers to sell them to others. I then recoup my losses into that. It kind of pays back for itself.

Also at the time that RAM was cheaper than the 16 GB option. Surprisingly.

It's really just a WIP right now. I originally went for budget but then budget didn't matter. It was a mess. My next build will hopefully be more thought out.

Odd choices in components...

+1 for cat

all fans on extract, no intake, poor choice for airflow, or just lacking knowledge in that area

This is a cool looking computer, love the colors from the RGB. Great components and should be great for gaming and streaming. A little on the expensive side for me, but overall the computer is pretty cool and cat approved!

I don't know if it's just the country I'm in (Canada)but the RAM is almost 1/3 the price of the total build... Also need to drop an M.2 Nvme SSD in that thing!!!
