Description

I use this PC for streaming, gaming, and work (which is mainly word processing, database queries, and create/manage large access and excel files).

Coming from 2010 MacBook Pro this PC has been a very welcome change. I had no hiccups during my build except routing all my power cables through the HDD cage when I should have just taken it out to start.

Coming soon are mesh power cables.

Sick build. You really crammed everything in well!

I TOTALLY understand where you're coming from on the hard drive cage. That thing was a PAIN. (I built in this same case.)

Coming soon are mesh power cables.

I did sleeved extensions, and they look gorgeous, but add a lot of unnecessary length to hide under the shroud. I suggest a CableMod kit.

Cheers!

+1 on the build, solid part choices.

A few things though: I believe your ram should be alternating slots on both side of the cpu. I also feel like you don't need those 2 intake fans at the top. Personally, I'd move the top right fan down to the front as an additional intake and turn the left one around to have it exhaust. But to each his own.

Totally agree with regard to the RAM. He is only getting the benefit of dual channel the way that he currently has them (instead of quad channel). Page 30 of the manual shows to place a stick in each of the outside slots (on both sides of the CPU) then moving in on both sides skip the next slot and then place the next two.

You made me Go look at the graphic again. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for the heads up. I just went back and looked at the graphic in the manual. I must have read it wrong the first time. I thought it mean place in the slot odd number slot first for each channel and then the even for each channel. Aka slot 1 then slot 3 then slot 2 and slot 4.

So I should place in slot 1,3,57?

Looking from left to right, I believe quad channel would be slots 1,3,6,8. Each side would mirror itself based on placement. However, don't quote me on that.

Great looking build, somehow even with the Noctua fans! Out of curiosity - how do you feel about those two monitors, the S2716DG and the U2717D, paired together? I'm thinking about getting the same set soon. Do the colors look much worse on the S2716DG? Does it feel at all like that's the worse panel, and you'd rather be playing on the U2717D? Thank you!
