+1 Great build man! How do you like that mobo? I was thinking of getting it... any thoughts? Anyways like I said before great build, glad to welcome you to the community!

I actually own the mini itx version of this mobo, the ASUS Z97i, and so far it works like a dream! The Bios is where this mobo really shines, its easy to navigate, has an extensive amount of features, and the board overall screams quality, especially for the sub 150 I paid for it. I'm planning to post a complete build with it in a week or so, but anyways I would definitely recommend this board series.

Doesn't the "A" model have a brown pcb though ?! I hate brown pcb's on mobo's. I will pay a premium for a nicer looking board but that's just me. Fortunately the Asus z97 AR is on sale right now for like $81 or something after rebate @ TD if you use the PayPal $25promo on orders $100 and up! I'm not trying to promote anything but if somebody needs a cheap good looking board that does NOT have a brown pcb there you go! Anyways nice build man I love that case it makes.cable management a cinch! I would be careful with that psu though! I was running a 290 on one only pushing about 500w max and it went out with a loud pop and smell of burnt plastic. Fortunately it didn't take everything out with itx!! Anyways great build its clean and most of all CHEAP and capable build for under $1000 !

Ya thats the 290 for you it is one of the most power consuming cards on the market, 500w is simply not enough for that card. As for the 970 it is one the lowest power consumption cards on the market, if you are considering this card even a 550 is more than enough. i have never even surpassed 450w with this build so far.

+1 on the build great job!

Great video card, kick *** CPU, Asus motherboard, SSD and 1 TD HDD and a sweet case, great job. The only thing I would have done different was to get some DDR3-1600 or higher ram.

Great Build! Are you going to get an aftermarket cooler? Even if you don't overclock its just nice to keep cpu temps low. +1

I was planing on getting a water cooler later but your saying that i should overclock it even without a aftermarket cooler?

I meant that that you don't have to overclock with an aftermarket cooler unless its a water cooler because then it's kind of a waste of money.

To be fair, it is one of the best, if not the best, full towers out there.

For not having a modular ps, cable management is pretty nice. +1
