Description

Wanted a decent gaming build that could also do some video editing and photoshop, but also eye-catching and flashy. Always have had a laptop so I needed external speakers and keyboard. Went with a cheap Target keyboard for now so I could dump all my budget into the internal components. Ended up using my old stereo system, that I wasn't using, for my external speakers and they sound amazingly! Works great and fast! Just what I wanted/needed!

Part Reviews

CPU

Super fast decent priced for my budget build

CPU Cooler

Looks cool (pun intended) but also keep cpu temp down when under load

Motherboard

Good lower priced mobo for my build. Loved the integrated M.2 to SATA SSD slot. Works great!

Memory

These look flashy and I seem to work just as intended. I wanted something to add some colors to the whole build and this tied into the RGB theme.

Storage

This SSD is the first I've ever used. It's super fast and startup time is minimal.

Storage

Needed some cheap storage to complement the SSD I got and this seems to be doing the job.

Case

The case was just roomy enough for my cooler and adds to the RGB theme.

Power Supply

Decent low priced power supply. Does its job well

Keyboard

great cheap keyboard

Mouse

have been using these for years. Never fail. do just what I need.

Custom

Not really needed but adds color to the inside of the case! Looks great with my other RBG comopnents

Personally I would've tried saving for the 9600k so you could overclock(or maybe gone with ryzen) but you have a pretty good gaming setup if that's all you're looking to do.

I agree, could have done a lot better. Especially that single channel memory.

Yea on a later build I might venture into overclocking but I'm just using this for gaming and it performs great. I may look into ryzen on next build.

I like that you left room to purchase another 8gb ram stick in the future. Relatively cheap upgrade for nice results.

Great build, but why didn't you go with two 4gb RAM sticks instead of one 8gb RAM stick? It would have looked better maybe.

He's most likely planning on adding in another stick of ram to have 16gb.
