Description

Build this HTPC for my hall, to play spotify/tidal/netflix and some Blurays. Special thanks to my wife for buying all the parts as my 2019 birthday present, and pcpartpicker.com for helping her spying on me.

Lesson Learned; 1) Use magnetic screwdrivers - pc hardware 101. 2) i did wrong by using non-modular PSU, the casing is pretty tight. 3) These fans, are quiet enough, I am happy as is. 4) the bar that goes from the front to back of the casing, is touching the radiator of the cpu cooler, i am planning to shave half of the stick. 5) This casing, its perfect! suits my Marantz 6005 amplifier. 6) the ram, is nearly touching the tubes on the cpu cooler. but its not impossible to install.

I have included the picture to have an idea of the size comparing to Marantz 6005. As I am moving houses, the pc will be rigged at the new place and the pictures does not represent the final setup.

In the end, it is a very satisfying build. Happy building!

Part Reviews

CPU

Quite powerful CPU, especially for what I am using, ie HTPC.

CPU Cooler

Very quiet, and never hits max fan speed on my build, very good!

Video Card

One and only type I can find easily in Malaysia, for a low profile card. No complains.

Case

Perfect case matching with my amplifier, which makes me very happy.

Not as expensive as well. Just that if this case allows normal GPU to be inserted although in horizontal, it will be very helpful.

Case Fan

Very quiet, reputable performance from a reputable brand. Highly recommended.

Custom

I like the build, the quality.

I dont like the lack of num pads, or numbers, i dont like the slow hard-press need buttons.

Custom

Very quiet and price very competitive.

Just that I bought this for a HTPC build, should get modular ones to get more space in the case. But it is my fault, not the manufacturer.

Nice!! You should show off some pictures of the final product of the assembled PC (as in, put together and running in its environment), I'm curious as to how it looks integrated with your other equipment

Nice build, that 1050 TI could run you some simple esports games on low - medium settings, like CSGO, Fortnite, etc.

Nice build! I also have an HTPC in a Silverstone ML04B. I was thinking about getting the Noctua NH-L12S (the Wraith Stealth that came with my 2200G is a bit to loud for my taste), but I can't tell if it will fit.

A question for you, if you have time to respond: You mentioned that the fins on your NH-L12S touch the support bar on the case. Are you still able to have the bar installed or did you have to take it completely out to get the case to close?

Thank you for your time!

Still possible to install it in, by leaving the support bar's screw on 1 side loose. Was thinking to grind the bottom side of the support bar, but since its working fine now, I leave it be.

Sorry for the delay, didnt notice the comment.
