Description

Hey everybody! I wanted to share my build before i upgrade to Ryzen. This was themed after the character Snowball/Snuffles from Rick and Morty. I tried to save as much money as i could by finding deals here and there. It was a great experience being able to pick out parts, put everything together and see it run smoothly. Thanks to PCPP and its great community for all the help! Hope you guys like it!

I'll make sure i post the updated build ;)

That 1060 looks sick!
Is the speed on that ram correct, seems kinda slow?

It's FX, not Ryzen. DDR3 were a lot slower.

I know my build is ddr3, most of the time i see 1866 or 1600 but not 1333.

It's not like there would be any difference between them anyway. I had 20GB of DDR3 RAM, 2x8 + 2x2 where 2x2 ran at 1333 and 2x8 was advertised to have 1866. Removed 2x2 and I didn't see any difference, just less RAM.

Thank you. And yes it's correct. From what I understand ram speed won't make that huge of a difference. You may get a 2-3 extra fps but that's about it. Wasn't worth spending the extra cash imo.

makes sense, hope ram prices go down soon, a year ago i payed $40 for 8gb that now costs $80. Wish i had just got 16gb :/

Yeah it's ridiculous. I'm always checking craigslist, offer up, mercari ect for deals. Last week I picked up 16gb of corsair vengeance lpx for $50! Thanks craigslist :D

Nice deal, I'm always checking /hardwareswap for a good deal on the ram you have but at 1866, seems they are kinda rare though to find.

I owned this exact same card and did the exact same thing by painting it white. My opinion... Hands down the best looking card on the market. I even did a vertical gpu mod to show it off!!!

Good build, you'll love you card more with a new cpu

Thanks man. Did you overclock it?

Yeah 3.8v at standard voltage on stock cooler. Easily get more but i'm happy at 3.8 for the immediate future.

Hey Scary_Terry i am have a question on your led strip in your case Since i have similar pc build recently, only got Hall of Frame led on gpu fan. So, what kind of led strip that you use for the build? It is not too much fancy "rgb" but bring peaceful atmosphere for the case

Is it normal if my top covers are a bit yellow-ish, instead of the same lucid white that the entire case has?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the top covers.

Ahh I see. It should be the same white color as the case. Unfortunately my case doesn't have that. I belive that comes with the silent edition, but i'm assuming it was like that when you bought it.
