Well this is my first ever build. I spent so much time researching I forgot to build this earlier. Anyways, before I start explaining my parts I want to thank everyone on this site who has helped mean answered all my newbie questions about pc building.
My favorite color is red and seeing so many black and red builds, I decided to change it up. I've been saving up for this computer since I was was in high school. It felt like a dream building this. Not only do I feel proud of myself, but also impressed.
Now, I present to you, Blood Rose!
CPU (Intel Core i7-6700K)
The 6700K is just pure awesomeness! This processor should last me a long time. Overclocked it to 4.5GHz while being super stable and low temps under load. Since it was my first time building, placing the CPU in the socket was more intense and nerve-racking than all my high school exams combined :O.
Cooler (NZXT Kraken x61)
This is one of the most sexiest coolers I have ever seen in my life. While playing with the RGB lighting, I got it to my preference and it just ties the whole thing together. Other than looking awesome, it does its job of keeping my CPU cool and makes almost no noise.
Motherboard (Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7)
When this motherboard came out, I bought it in an instant. For so long I just thought of getting a white Asus board to go along with the Red/White color theme, then this beauty showed up. There are just so many features to tinker with, it looks magnificent, BIOS is super easy to use and did I mention it looks magnificent?
Memory (G.Skill Ripjaws Series IV)
I saw these in another persons build and just knew I had to buy them. Luckily for me, someone I knew were selling these used. So I immediately bought them. Also because the guy who sold to me is a dear friend, he sold it to me for $50! These sticks work well and does what it's supposed to. No problems so far :)
Storage (Samsung 850 EVO 500GB & Seagate Barracuda 2TB)
I've never had an SSD before and once I used this one. Holy mother of speed, this was so fast compared to what I was used to. Before I had to wait about 5 minutes for everything to completely load up when switching on my computer. Now all I have to do is blink and BAM! everything is up. (slight exaggeration, but you get the point). I needed quite the space since I help my uncle with some Video/Audio editing and these files are filling them up quite quickly. Maybe I should get another one :p
Graphics Card (Gigabyte 980 Ti Reference model)
BRB, have to pick up my jaw from the floor. Just kidding. But really this card just blew me away. I have been playing games on an old laptop that runs League of Legends at 30fps on very low. YES, you heard me right, VERY LOW. That should explain the performance on other games. Now it demolishes every game I throw at it. When first opening Fallout 4 it said "set to Ultra" I cried out tears of joy. So yeah it's an awesome card that won't disappoint.
I was going to paint it red/white, I was afraid that I might screw it up and ruin a very expensive graphics card and may void the warranty. So I left it as it is.
When it comes to sound, I never really noticed since I game with headphones. Some time in the future I will be learning to water-cool so stay tuned ;)
Case (NZXT H440)
This is case is just so sexy. I painted the black parts red to match the colors I was going for with Plastidip, just so I can peel it off when I feel like to . This was inspired by OC3D video when he swapped the colored panels from the Black and Red H440 with the White. It just looks so amazing. The painting process was a little tedious at time being it super windy and rained nonstop in my area when I was spraying it.
The built quality is superb and it looks stunning. I can see why everyone loves case this so much. It barely makes any noise and since the reference cooler is a blower type, everything else is kept cool. When the finished product was done, man I was so happy and amazed of how good it looked.
Monitor (Dell U2515H 25")
This monitor is probably one of the cleanest, sleekest looking monitor I have ever owned. It's thin bezels are just amazing and the quality of my Video editing and gaming scenes are just super crispy.
Peripherals (Headphones, mouse, keyboard and speakers)
The Sennheiser G4ME Zero is great. The sound quality is amazing and the build just feels so premium. The leather padding feels like placing clouds on my ears. I could wear these all day. The mic quality is awesome and the red color accents are nice.
The Royal Kludge keyboard was on Massdrop and got it shipped in a month since I live in Australia. I was looking for a nice white keyboard with rgb lighting to match the whole Red/White setting. I bought the brown switches and since it's my first mechanical keyboard i've done nothing but type random words on a blank word document just to hear the sounds :P
The mouse is also white with red leds which is really nice. But one thing really creeped me out. After downloading the software for the mouse something weird happened. Every time I clicked the DPI setting a creepy voice yelled out 8200 DPI!!! or it would yell out "Congratulations, you've won a trophy!". At first I thought it was a virus , like one of those you've won one million dollars type of thing, but it wasn't. I left it for a bit and when I was alone at home at 3 am in the morning with speakers on it said it again. I have never been so scared of a mouse before. I googled the voice and figured out it was from the software. I disabled it and hopefully will never hear it again...Jesus. Here's what it sounds like --->Creepy Roccat
The speakers I bought off Gumtree, which is like an Aussie variation of craigslist, for $70 bucks. The couple were moving to a different country and bought this for cheap. It works so well and is able to shake my room and make my neighbors swear at me. So I got that going...
The backplate I bought off V1tech. I got the wrong backplate and it broke during transit. I explained my case to them and in a heartbeat they replied back with an apology and another backplate free of charge. They were nothing but helpful and supportive and I can vouch for that.
My cables were from Icemodz, similar story with V1tech, got the wrong cables got sent the actual one free of charge. They were super helpful and friendly. Their store had a limited time only free international shipping so I went ahead and took advantage of that.
Thanks for reading this long description, and if you didn't, thanks for clicking on my build :) Hope ya'll have a lovely day/night. Peace :)
