Description

I've been upgrading and adding to my old gaming computer and finally got it to where i wanted it! all i need is a modular PSU, maybe an SSD and a Better gaming monitor. Might upgrade my case to the the Cooler master HAF 932.

overall i love my computer!

the cryorig cooler runs a little bit better and keeps it at 50 to Maybe 60 Celsius under full load and not over clocked. downside is it Doesn't have any copper built into it what so ever Despite what Newegg lists.

Any feedback is welcome!

P.s. I will eventually update my Computers pictures as it has changed since i last uploaded them.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Finally got my self a good CPU Cooler! Keeps it a solid 27 Celsius at 4 ghz under normal load and maybe high 50's under stress. This thing BARELY fits in my case!

Thermal Compound

one of the best thermal grease compounds ever made! there is no burn in time and it starts working immediately!

Motherboard

Great mobo, has A lot of upgrade potential! Has 6 Sata 6gb/s ports! potential for a threeway sli setup!

Memory

Great ram at a great price point!

Storage

not the best HDD but it works for a decent raid storage setup! (dynamic, striped raid array) Also they were absolutely free! I have four of these and the read /write speeds are about 400/350 mb/s respectively.

Storage

bought this over 4 years ago haven't had a single problem with it!

Video Card

by far the best GPU i've owned yet! it can handle pretty much anything i throw at it AND stay under 50c under max settings. the heaven bench-marking tool only got it to 55c under max settings!

Case

Kinda cheap material, but i like the way it looks. wish it was a little bigger though. leaves much to be desired for cable management. has decent upgrade potential. the led fans that shipped with it were garbage.

Power Supply

bought this second hand, works fine. wish it was modular.

Optical Drive

Decent. Cheap. Blu-ray Reader/Writer.

Operating System

the best windows OS, in my opinion!

Case Fan

these fans aren't too bad. the adapters don't work very well, seems like there isn't enough power to get them to actually turn on when you use the low voltage adapters. which is fine with me because they're pretty quite to begin with. NOT PMW! make sure you get the FOUR pin if you want that feature.

Keyboard

cheap and free keyboard, nuff said.

Headphones

Friggin love these things! they almost "beat" out Dre's beats, the ones that cost $200+. I paid 10. these have slightly less bass range. other than that they sound VERY similar!

With the CPU overclocked, does the CPU Cooler have a hard time with staying cool? serious question.

naw i have texture mods and what not installed in most of my games and the highest it gets is around 75-ish Celsius a bit high but not bad for a stock oem cooler. its only overclocked to 4.4ghz. it sits at an idle with about 40-45C.

Alright, I've just had issues with my 860 with a Cool Master T4 that gets way hot, without an overclock. I was just hoping that when I do some upgrading over the summer, that I'd be able overclock the CPU with the CPU cooler. I'm up in the 90 degrees Celsius on CSGO with default settings I also idle at about 55ish. I think I have the Cooler mounted wrong, or not very well.

wow, should not be that high at all! check to see if your mounted properly and make sure you've applied your thermal paste of choice right. i got mine down 10c just by experimenting on how much past i use with it a few times. mine has no burn in time either.

72.7°C is the max temperature allowed at the processor Integrated Heat Spreader for your cpu! so be careful with your temps!

Why not get a 1070 it is similarly priced and runs better than a 980

the 1070 doesn't have the new faster architecture that gives the 1080 such a huge speed boost.

Have they dropped the 1080/1070 yet?
