Description

Last year my brother introduced me into the world of PC gaming. I got a Alienware R3 15 laptop which I had some fun with but I've been itching to build my own computer. After seeing some friends complete their builds I figured it was time to give it a go.

Going into this build I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew is that I wanted to do it right the first time. After a couple nights I had finally finished and went to turn it on... nothing. No lights, no fans, no power anywhere. As it turns out the cable mod cords which I had bought are all bad! I switched back to all the original black (boring) cables and thankfully everything lit up. Not really sure if I got a bad batch of cords or what.

Looking back at the build there are a few things I learned -

 1. It's not as hard as it looks most of the items are plug and play just follow any youtube tutorial. Even if its not the same brand as you are using you can still easily follow along.

 2. Worry about cable management as you go along. Don't wait until the very end to start arranging and managing your cables because things get very messy.

 3. Keep track of your screws. Some of these screws are very small and will easily disappear on their own. I kept mine in a little tupperware container (after loosing a few trying to keep them on the table).

Nice build! I agree and disagree with #2. I think you definitely should keep it in mind, but don't get too detailed with it until you verified that the whole system works.

Yes i can agree with this. Obviously you don't want to start zip tying and locking stuff down. I just wish when i did it i tried to keep it a little cleaner from the start. That is a really good point though.

I've found those sticky cable tie mounts to be super helpful as well. If there is no nearby tie mount, you might be able to put a sticky one somewhere to help with keeping stuff organize.

I think your build would look better if there was better cable management under the desk! 8 out of 10 Stars!

Very nice build.

Glad you got everything to work properly.

Funny, some people think the most important thing about a high-end build are the looks of it, and not the performance of it. You did great.

Question: Any reason your radiator is pushed down a fan slot? Seems you may be cooling components under the psu shroud.

Everything looks GREAT, except for that annoying cosmetic thing people call Cable Management.

Please fix the top fan thats bringing in cold air from the top. My OCD is going nuts with the airflow pattern you're creating with the fan orientation haha

Have you had any problems with your 2080 ti? I ordered mine but now I'm concerned with all this dead and damaged 2080 ti and all of them seems to be the FE.
