I have been slowly saving money for nearly two years. All of the waiting has finally delivered my dream. 1440p 144hz gaming! Coming from a 2012 iMac with integrated graphics, gaming was never enjoyable. I envied others who were enjoying triple A titles and demanding games. But no more, as this beauty of a machine can comfortably run all of my games at 1440p while looking very good! This purchase was 100% worth it in my mind, and it is very surreal to own this speedy box of joy.
This being my first build, I was very nervous. I was scared that I would ruin this sexyy beast. To my surprise, the entire process went without any problems! I was unsure but confident that I could do it. The youtube community and other forums were very helpful in the build process. Over the last couple of years, my knowledge has expanded vastly. I only had to consult the motherboard's manual a few times, but other than that I was entirely alone! I imagined building the computer along with a build guide of sorts, but months and months of learning brought me through the process on my own with little headaches.
Cable managing was a pain, but a necessity. The S340 Elite made my job very easy! I am proud to call this machine my own, built specifically for my needs (AKA my gaming wants)
I built this machine with performance in mind, but also meticulously caring for the aesthetics. I would like to pick up a Hue+ in the future to bring my computer full center. This PC was painstakingly made to fulfill my dreams. It runs like a beast, and looks insane at the same time! Who can relate with me, I feel like I look at my tower more than my monitor! All of these components are of utmost quality, and I fully recommend any of these parts to anyone looking to build. My only regret, albeit slightly, would be the graphics card choice. It is still an absolute beast and performs as advertised, but I wish I could have gotten a different brand that may have offered better software. I often am forced to restart my computer whenever I would like to open the RGB/fan control software included with the graphics card.
You may have noticed I stuck with the AMD stock cooler. I have no plans on overclocking my CPU, but when that changes I will just pick up a nice AIO cooler to do so.
This whole process was amazing, and I am loving the Glorious PC Masterrace! Thank you, and May our Framerates be High and our Temperatures Low!
Games I Play:
ARK: Survival Evolved
Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Rainbow 6 Siege
The latest BIOS update, as of 11/4/17 -- I am getting a steady 2666 clock @ 1.35 volts and advertised timings. Using the D.O.C.P. does the 5 crash then goes into safe POST mode. If anyone with similar configurations would like to share their more successful overclocks, please do so below. Thanks!
This is an absolute beast. 6 physical cores and 12 threads of pure AyyMD all bundled up, just for me!
Using my G.Skill Trident Z RGB Ram, I am currently unable to reach the advertised 3200MHZ speed, hopefully updates can fix the lack of support on Ryzen's end.
This gets the job done for me. The Aura lighting is a nice touch, and works very well with my RAM. It brings the system together very well with a nice aesthetic.
Very beautiful DIMMs to look at. Using Aura lighting hand in hand with my motherboard looks very uniform with the rest of my system.
This review will receive 5 stars once Ryzen has better support for RAM clock speeds, as I can only reach 2400MHZ, not the advertised speed.
This is my boot drive, and brings me to the lock screen in mere seconds. This is pure overkill for my needs, but making those loading times on select games and software is such a convenience.
Good old hard drive, very reliable and keeps my bulk storage safe!
Demolishes all of the games I want to play. At 1440p 144hz, it can take advantage of the extra refresh rate in most games. Enjoyable for me, and looks nice in my system. Kind of wish I would have gotten a Strix card or EVGA card, but I decided to buy in a very bad time- during the mining craze killing stock/ ruining prices.
The software is kind of finicky at times, but it is bearable.
What a beautiful case. Very easy to work in, me being a first time builder. Plenty of space for upgrades in the future. Couldn't ask for a more sexy case.
I have not experienced any problems with this PSU. The included black cables are relatively sleek, and get the job done. The aspect of being fully-modular is a very nice indulgence.
