BoyScout March 23, 2017

Update: The live stream is over. Thanks to everyone who joined the fun! If you missed it, you can watch the archive on Twitch.tv.

Update 2: The archive is now also available on YouTube. Additionally, we've posted a cable management video which is linked below.

Join us on Twitch, Thursday, March 23 at 2PM CDT for our next live build. Asus sent us their latest X370 motherboard and two STRIX RX 480s to help us put together an AMD Ryzen system using the top of the line R7 CPU.

We'll be building in the new BitFenix Shogun case. We also picked up the new TridentZ RGB memory from G.Skill, which when combined with Asus Aura support on the motherboard, GPUs, and case will give us complete synchronized control of the lighting across the entire system.

A big thanks to Asus for providing the motherboard and video cards to help make this build possible.

$1250 Gaming PC Build - ASUS STRIX B250F Gaming / i5-7500

BoyScout Feb. 24, 2017

For this month's featured build guide video, we started with our Great Gaming Build Guide, but added a few tweaks.

We wanted a motherboard with RGB LED support to allow us to easily add a software controllable strip along the LED light channel in the DUKASE V2. The ASUS Strix B250F with Aura support fit the bill. We also wanted to upgrade the CPU Cooler to something a bit nicer than the stock cooler to improve the overall look of the build through the case's large side window.

Check the part list below to see our final selections and watch the video to see how it came together.

A special thanks to ASUS for providing the motherboard and graphics card used in this build.

To see how Barry got the cables under control, be sure to check out the cable management time lapse video:
