The stream is over - thanks everyone for joining us! You can watch a replay of the stream on [Twitch]: Part 1 / Part 2.

Join us Thursday, June 2nd on Twitch at 2pm CDT for some Overwatch game play with live FCAT and performance monitoring.

We'll be using some of our recent builds to test frame rates and temperatures across a variety of processor and GPU options. We'll start off with our $600 i3 / R9 380X / Entry Level Gaming PC, move up to our recent $1250 i5 / GTX 980 PC, and then finish things up on to the $2200 i7 / R9 Fury X PC.

As with our previous live performance benchmark stream, there will likely be a few other graphic cards thrown in upon request (if available).

Is it possible to somehow kindly ask AMD for an RX 480 :D

BoyScout staff submitter 19 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

Unfortunately, I don't think any amount of finger crossing will help make that happen by tomorrow.

rhali8 2 Builds 3 points 15 months ago

I think I know a good solution. Common logic says that crossing fingers increases the chance of something you want happening by 0%... Therefore we need to have so many people crossing fingers and hope that the guy doing the math gets confused!

I have no idea what they're doing

390X! I love the 390x.

BoyScout staff submitter 19 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Hmm.. I don't think we have one of those on hand. We've built with the R9 390 a couple times, but not a 390X that I can recall. I'll double check tomorrow though.

Ok.

GTX 950 pls :)

I would loike to see how the i5 can handle it with Intel's HD530, since I am planning on patiently waiting for the RX 480

piemancoder 2 points 15 months ago

About 30-40 fps with medium/high settings on 1080p

piemancoder 1 point 15 months ago

Do you guys have a GPU that was not made for gaming, such as a Quadro or a FirePro? I've wondered how well those would work while gaming

DayfortheDead 1 point 12 months ago

exactly like the titan x for quadro

Enrico411 1 point 15 months ago

Looks promising can't wait!

kylclrk 1 point 15 months ago

Will there be any tabular data on the results? I guess I could just watch, haha

BoyScout staff submitter 19 Builds 2 points 15 months ago

If you want to see it now, there's a summary slide we put up between each video card / settings swap, so you can skip to the end of the stream for the final result table (On the Twitch VOD, it's in part 2, @~1:45).

Awesome, thank you!

We'll show a couple lower end card options for sure -- but we aren't likely to drop below the game's minimum system requirements or use non-gaming oriented cards.

You have about 24hrs... now make it happen :-)

I'm not 100% sure yet. We have one on the way, and the tracking looks promising for it to arrive in time, but we won't know for sure until tomorrow. Keeping fingers crossed!

AndrewKVK 1 point 15 months ago

Integrated graphics on any of the chips :$

BoyScout staff submitter 19 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

Should be doable -- we'll give it a try and see what happens.

GentlemanShark 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

How'd you do that?
