Phenom X6 1100T

How much would you pay for one? (used, great condition)

They're selling for $130-160 on eBay, and I can't understand why. They encode like an i7-950 and game as well as an i3-3xxx. Sometimes they yield an FPS close to an FX-6350!* (Whoa).

*(inb4: myeh, CPUs don't yield framerates!!!).

After perusing gaming benchmarks for an hour, the 1100T performs =< the FX Bulldozer. Sometimes, it's on par with the FX Piledriver. Even when controlling for the clockspeed.

A used FX-63xx is about $60. A used i7-940 is roughly $30-40. The premium on 1100T's is insane.

*(The 'inb4' is directed at people who argue the contrary. We agree that the CPU generally matters for framerates).

I keep thinking that I'm overlooking something, but maybe buyers go nuts when they see 'six-core' CPU?

I guess so. Switching from that AM3 is presumably too costly. Thanks, Ada.
