Hi All,

Z270 motherboard + Skylake (6600k/6700k) + Windows 7

I'm wondering if anyone run this type of setup and how has it been for you and would you recommend it?

Thanks.

I thought Windows 7 no longer supports Skylake, didn't Intel announce that they won't release Skylake drivers compatible with Windows 7?

I think it's Kaby Lake processors that will not have drivers for Win 7 , intel offers drivers for Skylake on Win 7.

A z270 motherboard will need a bios update for the system to even turn on but once that happens then you should be fine. Skylake is compatible with windows 7 .

Why would a Z270 motherboard need a bios update to run with the previous generation processor? It's running Kaby lake on a Z170 motherboard that would give you problems.
