Recommend me a motherboard

Looking for a motherboard to pair with a 6700k and to use with windows 7. Can be either a z170 or z270 (providing Win 7 can be used on it)

Things to consider: there can currently 2 cashback promotions on Asus and MSI motherboards here in the UK for the next 2 days. Examples of motherboard prices (some with cashback included):

Asus Z170 Maximus Hero 8 - £162

Asus Z270 Maximus Hero 9 - £195

Asus Prime Z270 A - £108

Asus TUF Z270 Mark 1 - £167

MSI Z270 Gaming M7 - £201

MSI Z270 Gaming M5 - £150

Gigabyte Z270 Gaming 7 - £210 (+€20 steam voucher)

Gigabyte Z170 Gaming - £200

Open to suggestions.

One thing I hope someone can help me with - I have noticed quite a few reviews on Asus motherboards (z170 + z270) mentioning increasing faliure rates on their boards, in the medium term, not just DOA. Is this just a symptom of their popularity and market share, so more reviews (and more negative ones), or are their recent boards slightly weaker than before?

Thanks

All depends on what features you require from the board in terms of which and how many ports/headers etc. Been looking for something similar myself and found the Gigabyte Gaming 7 suits me best as it has 4 usb headers and more m2 and pcie slots. A lot of other mobos only have upto a max of 3 usb headers.

My recommendation would be the ASRock Extreme 4 motherboard.

For the lower endish motherboards, it is one with the best value on the market at the moment. It is really good, offers more ports than others, includes a bit of RGB, includes HB SLI bridge (you never know) and overclocks pretty well. This caused many reviewers to have their eyes on it as well.
