Will be gaming at either 1080p or 1440p so I'm thinking either a 1060 or 1070?

Anyone have specific models in mind? I was going to originally get a evga gtx 1070 ftw but i'm not sure if the cards overheating issue has been fixed and I don't really want to worry and get the thermal mod kit from them.

1080p at 60-100 FPS = 1060 6GB

1080p at 100+ FPS OR 1440p at 60 FPS = 1070

Budget? Monitor?

If I get a 1070 i'll be pairing it with a 27 inch 1440p monitor AT 75hz.

I have money but I'm hesitant to spend so much. My build is just under $2000 AUD

GTX 1070 would be the best choice or a vega 56 if you find it cheap, some Aussie stores have been selling it cheap recently

I agree with this, however just remember that all Vega 56’s are blower style at the moment. If this doesn’t bother you and you can get one for a good price then it’s a great choice as they are marginally better than a 1070. Also 1070ti should be available today, might be worth looking at, again price depending.

LTT benchmarks show the 1070ti and Vega 56 still trading blows, if the vega prices continue to come down it will be good to get otherwise grab the 1070 or 1070ti

Yeah if you think spending $50~ for 1070ti roughly for like 10fps max more then fair enough I guess. Regardless what you buy you get what you pay for.

I feel like your build should be cheaper since mine is going to be $2100 or $2200 (savings not deducted) for a 4k build.

Monitor: 32 in 4k 60hz $440 (on deal) Amazon (model is LG 32UD59-B for comparison).

Also if you get a 1070, you may want to consider a 1080 since they are on sale for about $500 right now. One even comes with game but that deal ends in about 6-8hours.

Prices are because of where I live. A 1080 is $800 here.

Oh I see. And they won't let you order from the American Amazon site? That's a bummer.
