I currently have a gtx 960 4gb and lately screen stuttering and tearing is annoying me more and more, so I bought a freesync compatible monitor with the idea of getting an amd gpu later.

I originally had the 470/570 or 480/580 in mind, but I just saw a r9 380 2gb for €130 (~$150). Is it worth the money?

The thing im concerned about is that its only 2gb and not 4gb, which may impact performance more than wanted.

Do you think it's worth the switch, and why?

I doubt an R9 380 2GB would give you any extra frames over the 960 4GB. The 380 2GB is usually considered pretty even with the 960 2GB.

But i can sell my 960 for around 100-120 i think, So that makes a no stutter and a few extra frames for about 10-30 bucks

But I think the 960 will actually have less stuttering because of the extra VRAM.

The R9 380 is more of a side grade to the 960, it is slightly better but not really enough to warrant switching to it.

I’d go for an RX 570 4GB or RX 580 4GB/8GB for your Freesync monitor, if you can find a good one for the right price.

Which is?

Well I’m from the US so idk much about European prices.

If you can find the RX 580 4GB for around I assume €200 to €220 that should be good. 8GB models go for almost $300 here so for that I assume €280. And RX 570s go for less than €200 if you can find them.
