I have found a psu that meets all of my specifications but my motherboard has a four pin connector for the cpu but my psu has a 4+4 pin yo i just plug in one 4pin into my mobo? Psu:Inter-tech ATX Power supply SL 700W Mobo: Asus p5e

If I'm not mistaken, the Asus P5B has an 4+4 EPS connector.

If your PSU has a 4+4 CPU power connector, provided you don't use a Core 2 Extreme processor, one 4 pin connector is enough.

That's why the second 4 pin connector has a plastic cap! (if you haven't figured out why it's that way) :)

Yes perfectly. Use the one 4 pin connector. You don't need the second one.

Of course that means if you still wanna connect the whole 8 pin (4+4) EPS connector, it wouldn't make any difference to the performance and the operation of the system.
