Can this motherboard update bios w/o CPU?

Hi, can this Gigabyte motherboard, have its BIOS updated without a CPU installed? I know that on MSI motherboards you can do it through a CPU so i'm wondering if a similar system exists on this motherboard... Cheers in advanced.

No BIOS flashback so it needs a compatible CPU/APU.

If You're going with MSI get one of the MAX series. The GSE-LITE BIOS on the older boards is poor when it works and that isn't guaranteed to work yet.

It works and it's not poor. It just doesn't have the color theme from the CLICK BIOS 5. That's all.

It doesn't have the compatibility with memory.

And many boards are being bricked trying to use it.

The current AGESA is too large to fit within smaller BIOS chips with optimizations.

That's a failure no matter how anyone looks at it.

Even MSI is suggesting to avoid it and instead get a MAX series board to avoid the issues.

Edit: Good hardware is only good if it works and this is a case where it is good hardware but it is a coin toss on if it will work which makes it a bad buy even with the flashback feature.

Add in AGESA size is only going to increase once AMD stops with the rolled back AGESA and its it's only going to make those boards worse.

Yeah i'll likely be going for the MSI MAX Tomahawk.
