Potential Bottleneck?

Hi, Knowing that the rx 4700 runs on PCIE 4 and that my motherboard is PCIE 3, am I bottlenecking my GPU by not getting the latest chipset that supports it?

No. GPU don't max out PCIE 3.0 at this point.

Cheers for the video too, the actual benchmarks make it pretty clear.

I have no idea. Even have benchmarks to prove it. More then likely that small difference has more to do with the bios setting the PCIE 4.0 slot to run as a 3.0 slot in those tests then anything else.

Yeah who knows, but the thing is that someone will barely notice that 1% difference in performance. lol

Your right no one will notice. You will see that sort of difference between motherboard, or even two different GPUs of the same type. It's not a statistically signification difference.

NO!, it will not make your GPU run slower.

We are talking about a 1% performance difference across a lot of different games.

And even a PCIe 2.0x16 PCIe slot would drive that GPU perfectly fast.

The performance difference should be 2% on that matter.
