I have gtx 980 that I’m ok with right now. I also have lga 1150 mb with i5 4590 processor and 8gb ram I want to set myself up for the future gpus but not yet ready to buy one. Please create a part list for me without needing to add a case or ssd since I’ll be keeping both of mine. I am set on keyboard and mouse I have a 144 hz ultrawide monitor also just need opinion for cpu and motherboard. I do want to stick with Intel if possible But I’m open to Ryzen. Please keep in mind that I do plan on eventually getting a 2080ti with this set up. Please let me know if u have questions.

Budget around $800

Ryzen has more cores at the same price with pretty well the same single-core performance. Also, it has more future-proofing.

Do you mind explaining why it has more future proofing? I know very little about the brand.

Most Ryzen motherboards are compatible with the next few generations of cpu, whereas intel motherboards aren't. This is because they offer upgrade options for old chipsets with new CPUs. This motherboard should be compatible with the next few generations of cpu, provided that they don't introduce a new socket.

Does all these motherboards have a proprietary tiny fan built in? I heard some negatives about that.

Only the X570 boards do (but it shouldn’t be an issue if the airflow isn’t choked off)

do i have to get the X570 boards? Is that the best option?

So even for a strictly gaming pc the Ryzen cpu is still a better pick?

For now, until Intel catches up with the 10th Gen maybe.
