I purchased a used HTPC (Silverstone) with the following MOBO Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H micro atx AMD phenom(tm) ll X4 b55 processor 3.2 gh Ram 12 gb 1600 Hard drive ssd 500 gb No video card I am interested in editing my home videos and wanted to use this as an editor i am using pinnacle 19 movie maker and the videos when loaded hang up. my question is can i add a video card with about 4gb of memory . Would this solve the problem? the board limits me to 16 mb ram i have about 40 home movies i want to edit and then probably just use this as a HTPC which now it does fine any suggestions would be appreciated

Oof, that is quite an old CPU. Not sure where to go from here.

CPU is somewhat old, but if it's being overwhelmed, i'd get a small GPU (like a 1030 or 550)

Since the CPUs for that socket are going for cheap as well, you could also spend another $80 and get a Phenom X6 (for some increased punch)

Adding another 4GB stick RAM wouldn't hurt either (since DDR3 goes for pretty cheap)

Thanks for the advice i dont want to spend alot since this would be a one time use but i will pay what i have to since the video card is part of the Motherboard would a separate video card be helpful
