Hey everyone. I am relatively new to the world of using a PC for things other than general use. The one I am using now is bricked and cant do anything beyond playing puzzle games. I am looking to make an upgrade.

Budget: $1000 - $1250

Location: USA

Use: Primary use will be for gaming. Standard multiplayer games such as COD or Borderlands will be played. 60 frames minimum with the game running at 1080p would be preferred. No 4K needed. There will also not be many games installed at once while i slowly migrate to PC over console so a whole lot of storage is not needed off the bat.

Other standard day to day use will apply. (Web browsing, listening to music, work related tasks) Multiple windows may be open at once.

Personal suggestions for monitors, keyboards, and a mouse are welcome!

Windows preferred for the operating system.

Thank you for any suggestions on a build!

Here you are:

I did end up using all your budget, but this one is a better spend of your money since we can fit in parts that compliment each other.

  • Ryzen 5 3600: Just released in the last quarter, with somewhat better performance than its more expensive Intel counterparts.
  • The Memory market is currently at its trough, so RAM is dirt cheap, even the good stuff. This Corsair Vengeance kit would've run you ~$140 a year or so ago.
  • These new Sabrent Rocket SSDs boast crazy quick read/write speeds, that means fast loading times.
  • The 2060 SUPER is also recent (Q3 2019).

This build would easily handle 60+ frames at 1080p, it would mostly be able to manage 1440p if you're interested as well.

EDIT: After realising you also needed peripherals in there, I changed some things to allow for that.

As for keyboard/mice, it's hard to recommend this since it's a personal preference thing, really. When looking for keyboards, try to get mechanical switches, since those are very nice for gaming and even just typing.
