$1500 CAD PC Gaming Build

Hello,

I've been gaming on a MacBook Pro which really chugs with most games these days and I am looking into building a PC as a proper gaming rig. I mostly play simulation/strategy/RTS type games. One game I've been super into recently is Cities Skylines, which uses lots of RAM.

On a $1500 Canadian budget (including OS + monitor) is it possible to build a decent gaming rig with 32 GB of RAM? I was potentially looking at the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor?

I'm a total beginner so your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

32gb of ram is "too much ram" for city skylines, just kidding it's just a little overkill; hence why 3600mhz 16gb ram would benefit city skylines more. This system will play city skylines at around 100 fps more and most games above 80 fps, city skylines would also benefit from a nice fast NVME, i got a 500gb instead of 250gb so you can fit your operating systems on the NVME comfortable. The motherboard also has on-board WiFi, therefor no need for an Ethernet cable or WiFi card.

I don't know about City Skylines, but this should run most games pretty well. This build is including tax, so if you aren't considering that, I can buff up the specs considerably.

This isn't the prettiest build, so I opted for a case without a side panel, and some ugly interiors. If you'd prefer, I could try to sacrifice a bit of performance for a case with a side panel, and some pretty interior, maybe add a bit of colour(any specific colour scheme you want?)

Also, I could probably make it a lot nicer if we were to drop down a gen with the CPU, or reduce the memory, as 32GB is overkill for almost all games, and I believe City Skylines probably needs ~8GB, but it's up to you.

16gb 3600mhz would be better instead of 32gb 2666mhz as that's really slow for today's era.

Oh yeah, 100%, but I'm just trying to go for 32GB, otherwise I'd go over budget

Sorry if I came of as rude, I fully agree that 32GB of RAM is real overkill, I'm just trying to keep with what OP wants.
