I have £650 ($800) to build a budget rig. Hit me with your best all round build!

I need a rig that can play games and stream on Twitch (It doesn't have to be high end graphics, as long as i can get 30fps i am happy)

It needs to be able to render vids of my gameplay in Filmora

It also needs to be able to be upgradable, although i cant see me wanting to upgrade massively, its just nice to know i can in future.

Here is what I have, I see from your other post you stream poker which I bet even a 200ge can do. Although wow on it's highest settings does take it up quite a bit.

Here is what I should really leave up to you.

Case is really your choice, find a case you really like and we can work around that.

Storage how much do you really need? How much did you use up on your laptop, and maybe there's your answer.

Uhm yeah. I forgot one thing that some new tech is coming out! Yeah so you might want to wait for the RX 5500/1650 Super graphics cards since these cards fit right in your budget.

I rarely download anything at all if that makes any difference? I play world of tanks and i am so used to playing at the lowest settings possible just so it can run smoothly that anything better than that would probably blow my mind haha

If i could play world of tanks on medium settings it would make my year!

With your budget you can play it on the highest settings at over 60 fps dude. I sacrificed performance for quality with this list.

That's frigging awesome! I'm such a noob when it comes to these things. I am slowly learning though! While i have your attention is it possible to get Windows 10 Home edition on ebay? Someone told me its a lot cheaper but I'm not sure if its legal or would even work properly?

Good stuff!

Is this somewhat future proof? i.e do i have some room to upgrade in a few years time?

Is this somewhat future proof?

Well on a mATX board there isn't much future proofing as the voltage regulator modules concerns, but that's why they cost lower than a better constructed ATX board anyway.

Still you could very well go up to an 3700/3800X easily and most probably they may even support the upcoming Zen 3 processors (or at least a couple of those) that will be released next year.

So in general upgrade ability as CPUs concerns isn't the best you can get, but still pretty decent overall.

From there, you can of course upgrade the quantity of the ram and the isn't any limit as the GPU concerns.

Hope that helps! :)

Cheers Robert, I like the look of this one. Would i be able to play most games on medium settings do you think?

  • 1 point

Yes, your frame rate averaged across a range of titles at 1080p on medium settings should be around 128 FPS.

No way! That would be awesome, I cant wait to get it built now. Cheers Rob!

Awesome!

Does this have options to upgrade if needed in the future?

Yes (AM4 has one more chip left, so you should be able to get one more upgrade)

As you said you just want 30fps, this build will probably get 60 fps + on medium-high settings.
