Is buying a sound card worth it ?

I have a ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX AM3+/AM3 and when i plug my 5.1 Tritton pro plus headphones into the surroud sound analog sockets in the back i get a fairly loud constant hissing. I tryed using the digital optican cable instead but this only outputs in sterep on the motherboaard for some reason. Is it worth buying a Asus Xonar DGX (fairly cheap low end) audio card ? Could this possibly fix the problem or as i will be getting a new motherboard soon do i get one with a good onboard sound ? Here is my current build (http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/MAOwarrior/saved/yf7MnQ) Thanks

The included audio chips on most mobos are fine however, due to poor implementation, quality control... it may be worth purchasing a audio card.

Totally understandable. In fairness, some issues may be attributed to specific computer cases in combination with specific mobos.
