Only got mine to 4.8Ghz at 1.3V, overall a good cpu with a minor flaw, probably being the bad TIM installation.
OK, at first I experienced some of the temperature spiking mentioned around the interwebs as a result of my overclock. However, the easy-mode overclock was the culprit. When I turned off automatic voltage adjustment and set it manually, my temps dropped by 10+ degrees. Cheers!
only cost me 10$ more then the i7-6600k and so far runs pretty well, although I have been having issuses with it running hot so far ive been keeping it clocked at 4200 and undervolted it as much as possible and have it stable 1.08v. at higher volts and clocks it was hitting over 90c while playing doom4 and that's not good for me or it
I wanted a fast unlocked i7, and since Intel had recently released their 7th gen desktop processors, I decided to go with the 7700k instead of the 6700k.
New Kabylake! I got this OC'ed to 5.2 GHz!
When I started to plan out this build, I was going with the 6700K but the 7700K was released recently. Microcenter was also offering the new Kaby Lake processor for cheaper. I current have this processor OC to 4.8GHz comfortably. At idle the temperature sits around 30C, normal temperature is between 40-50C and the max I have documented is 65C
Run's beautifully. Easily overclocked it to 5.0 GHz in the BIOS and hasn't had a single hiccup.
Overall a great CPU so far and don't regret trading the 6600k for it. Only thing holding back 5 stars is what seems like hit or miss with temps when pushing 5ghz. I really want to hit that mark and I thought swapping for the H100i would do it but not quite there yet.
CPU: As this was a build from scratch, I decided to go with the Kaby Lake, because they are basically the same price. I got it pretty cheap, using a code on Jet. So far I have been very impressed, it seems stable at a moderate overclock.
Excellent cpu , easy and fast overclocking , no need to up the voltage too high.
