I went with Gigabyte because of the price, great reviews, and good looks. Gigabyte has a utility that allows you to make changes to the BIOS without having to load into the BIOS, pretty trick.

Feature pack gaming motherboard for a low cost and has a red LED line next to the audio that matches a red themed build.

Decent board, great aesthetics, average on board audio, no wifi or bluetooth onboard and only 3 fan headers.

The z97 chipset comes with the ability to OC unlocked Haswell (Refresh) chips, such as the Pentium G3258 and i5 4690k. Unfortunately, they are no longer in production and are incredibly pricey at the moment. This particular board proved to be rather cheaply constructed. I had to RMA twice on account of bent pins (socket and USB headers). I handle my electronics with care and have not ran into this issue with any other motherboard that I've used in the past. Other than the construction, this board offers a wide array of features that are greatly appreciated.

Works as a Z97 board should, the BIOS is beautiful, and the red LEDs on board are a nice touch.
