what do you think of the monitor now that you have test it quite some time? Would you rather get 1440p and 144Hz now? I'm afraid 144Hz ruins normal 60Hz displays lol and usually are pretty similar priced monitors to 4k 60hz

How do you like that monitor? I've seen it around $400 or even $350 used.. is it good to last through the 4k era? :P

No problem at all! tho there's a lot of cables and I really recommend a modular PSU.

Well it isn't pointless depending on the price, if the price difference isn't a lot (less than 40$ or so) I'll say go for the 5775C, if it's the same or the Haswell a lot cheaper go for it.

The broadwell is a really good CPU and does as good as Skylake in gaming. IMO for gaming this is the best mainstream processor out there.

This, check out hardwareswap subreddit, pretty good for finding low prices on used cards, and since you will change it in a year max it doesn't hurt to get it used.

Best bang for your buck right now at 1080 is the 380 2GB, I'm on the same boat as you, but I think I'm gonna go with the 280x unless I find a 380 20$ cheaper than the 280x.

It Overclocks kinda good also, I think people understimate it because it's clocked lower, but the overclocking capabilities measured in % of clock speed it's standard. Also the L4 cache is helpful in gaming. But still, price in store is not worth it imo.

Yeah and I get why, if I didn't get it by intel I'll prob have gotten a Haswell i5. The price tag for Broadwell is too high. Still, it's even better than Skylake for gaming imo.

You will need some more VRAM as time goes by, buying 2GB card if the difference against the 4GB isn't much is totally worth it for "future proofing" a bit.

i'll advice buying from jet and using the promo code apple20 I think or 20now to get 20% off the GTX 960 in your first order :) https://jet.com/product/Zotac-ZT-90308-10M-Zotac-ZT-90308-10M-GeForce-GTX-960-Graphic-Card-118-GHz-Core-/2a051e356362431fa562d3986c9513ee

I'm not sure if higher FPS are always better, I've seen benchmarks dropping too low and it will be a smoother experience on a 960, but them the 380 tempt me :P Also the 960 draws less power and runs a little bit cooler. Damn that EVO is expensive dude :/ Nice build aside from that.

Here's mine http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rdG7Q7 just missing the graphic card :D Let me know how the 960 turns out for you man!

I'm trying to decide the same, usually the Gtx 960 gets higher min FPS but the 380 manages higher avg FPS so idk.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "What the **** is Broadwell?"

Do you have any guide on how to overclock that RAM? 2133MHz seems like a really high frequeny, I would be scared to OC at that speed!

I think on getting a R9 380 or GTX 960, the 380 gets a couple more of FPS but the GTX 960 is more stable, smaller and gets higher min FPS, so it's pretty much a draw lol Problem is I have a mITX case too so I need to chose it well, also since I have a non modular PSU I don't know how I'll do with cable management .

Hopefully I'll get a Corsair H60 or Silverstone TD03 to cool the CPU and then OC it , I'll try it sometime, but not for now.

I'll post it for sure! There's not much people with Broadwell so we need to unite and help each other with this awesome chip! ha

Oh yes, very reasonable, around $200 since a friend who works on Intel gave me a hand with the CPU! Otherwise I advice checking prices on Jet.com and use the 20% promo discount to bring it down like 50$ from store price.

I was deciding between that and a 6700k but the latter one wasn't available at the time so I went with the 5775C, also because the gaming performance is actually better on Broadwell and by the time the 5775C gets outdated i'm sure the 6700k will need a change too.

Wow those are pretty awesome numbers for a iGPU, I get similar FPS by using a GT 650M on my laptop, it's gonna make the wait of the GPU pretty easy to get by :)

I went Fury white, contrary to your black one lol I'll get another stick then, 2 or 3 fps that I gain with double channel and less min FPS would be worth it.

Oh Ok then, I ordered a GIGABYTE GA-Z97N-WIFI mobo so I hope it works right out of the box! I'm glad you are enjoying this chip, I got it so I can play some games until I save up for a nice and good graphic card or wait for Pascal if it's going to arrive soon :)

Have you made new benchmarks with recent AAA games? Are you able to play them at 1080p even on low?

I also ordered a single 8GB Ram stick, I'm reading everywhere that dual channel does matter when using integrated graphics, is it true? If so I'm gonna order a new stick as soon as I can! heh Thanks for answering me dude :)

Yep, the Azza Stealth is just ugly, not stealth at all lol The Z is beyond my budget.

The CM130 is pretty dope tho, is it that good even if it's "dated"? I'm deciding between Sugo Sg13 and Antec ISK600 both seems nice
