Thanks I really appreciate the help!
Hey, nice rig.
Does that ram work perfect with the MOBO? I'm wanting to get the same combo but the Ram isn't listed on Gigabytes QVL list.
You used this ram right CMW16GX4M2C3200C16?
When I run memtest I get errors, could that be because the ram isn't compatible or is it because the ram is in fact faulty?
Awesome fair point, thanking you.
Good luck saving up! It will be so worth it in the end.
Product page is up, no longer going on rumours.
How do the stats compare to 10 series? I'm not clued up enough to turn the product specs into real world terms.
I know that but what I am actually asking is, will there be an instant increase in the amount of screen tearing im seeing, just from switching up the refresh rates?
Yeah I remember that too...
Thank you for the input, really interesting.
It seems quite unique in many ways, its amazing how much money could be made/lost.
Never no. ROG BIOS splash screen then straight to windows sign in.
Since sept 2017 and yes. Ram running at rated 3000mhz. Thinking it was drivers, had a usb plugged in and was quickly moving files. Said usb has been on my keys for about a year and hasn't seen a pc in that time, including my own.
Pretty subjective, are you happy with it? Are you looking to jump up to 1440p? Me personally, no chance, no point in upgrading for any less than 50% gain.
To me that sounds like one or more of the plastic gpu fan blades touching the shroud as it rotates. Disconnect it, take it out and turn it with your finger. You might actually see the offending blade(s). Maybe one is slightly damaged or it could be a manufacturing defect.
RMA advice makes total sense, just double check its not something silly first.
I had it as my first, regretted it after a few months. Sold it for almost what I paid for it and bought a proper 65% mechanical. Never going back to membrane.
Is there a tax on top of that price? They are £700 ish here in the UK, prior to the gouging. I was under the impression Canada was one of the most expensive places for parts but I must have just got that wrong.
Hey cool build, isn't that really cheap for a 1080ti in Canada or am I mistaken?
I've not caught up with her yet however no not initially, that was the first thing I had directed her to myself as I already knew about it.
Thank you for the alternate methods ill check them out once I get some time to get a hold of the laptop and try the likely avenues first.
Haha this is exactly how I felt, unluckily I thought I was just overlooking an alternate route to get her it for free but this doesn't seem to be the case.
It's a bloody state school, the way they are handling it is poor, I think they are taking issue with the fact it's a laptop and considered her own possession. Quite ridiculous regardless. I'll just re-iterate to her that perusing it through them is the normal route and in the meantime she can use google docs which I'll set up for her.
Thank you for the input :).
I did, first thing I tried doesn't work for her.
Was more looking for feedback on the various other methods of getting it free I.E. browser based suits. Your condescending statement is duly noted though thank you.
Tried that, she works in education and they still don't do it, pathetic attitude on their part.
My 1070 was £385 September 2017. I consider that to be the most id pay for a 1070 ever, currently I'm seeing my exact card for £634 NEW or SOLD on Ebay for £540 used. That is madness, you can't put a price on happiness and power to anyone still buying cards in pursuit of gaming as a hobby however I personally can put a price on my own happiness and its well below these prices. I just hope Nvidia doesn't do what any ruthless company would do and adjust pricing of upcoming cards to exploit the market in front of them, at this point people are still paying 2 or 3x the "value" of cards.
"Value for money" is quite subjective, all I know is I draw the line when 4x new break disks and pads for my van costs the same as a 1070. Its sad times really as it makes an enthusiast hobby essentially in accessible to newcomers for the time being.
I wonder what would happen with pricing, I hope the current inflation and gouging doesn't facilitate insane pricing. Ill most likely sell my 1070 and get a volta/ampere card, but not if the pricing is a joke.
Really interesting, thanks for that.
What is your personal opinion on the subject as a whole?
I've never seen one that cheap in the UK, I'm not talking in relation to current prices they are a load of nonsense. Cool build well done getting a good deal on that card man.
Where did you get a 1080 for that price mate?
Sort of what I was thinking, cheers mate, can always rely on your input.
Thank you, I turned it off and it's had no effect for me unluckily. All the best, nice build +1.
What was the exact item in the BIOS you disabled?
Could you tell me any more about the 10 degree spikes? I've experienced similar behaviour, often when opening a tab or a program I can see the spike, only lasts a few seconds and then drops back to prior temperature. I thought this was normal behaviour? If not can you give me any advice?
Yeah that is correct, just surprised me a bit because its never run that hot, even playing tomb raider or AC for extended periods. DOOM just pushes it to that next level clearly.
Thank you for the input :)
Thought you would be quick to reply to this one ;). Thanks boss.
Where are all the comments? I don't like star wars much but I do like custom builds where a level of effort and planning that has taken place. This is fantastic, the case is so cool and what you've done to it to make it your own is awesome. Very well done. May your frames be high and temps be low.
There is no conversion from USD to GBP on most pc components, especially GPU's.
If it's $450 it's almost always £450 and no it's not only brexit that caused this, it's capitalism at its finest it's been this way for as long as I've been alive anyway.
Haha me too I freak out if I see any dust!
Awesome good to know I think next time I'm looking for a case I might focus on that type, they look amazing it's good to know they don't lose much practicality, if any.
How practical are cases of this nature? Do you have to dust daily/weekly? Surely you must instantly see lower temperatures than a "normal" case? Do you notice noise more?
That's what I'm talking about though? I seen that price on Black Friday here in the uk. Wondered if it was snatched up that day.
You get that 1070 amazon black friday week?
Really need to update the pics, its changed so much already.
Both windows and the doors have to be left open, the mask is quite sophisticated as my brother is a stone mason and I got it through him. Without it id have a lung full of paint in no time.
All the best.
Yeah I do a lot of painting myself, car parts. I only have a tiny setup in a garden shed, envious of the big garage you have there!
A 2mm full face mask goes a long way and they are cheap, it can get a bit heady painting for long periods I know what you mean.
Don't even talk to me about dust! Absolutely despise the stuff.
Nice work man the pc is cool. +1
Cool build man, I'd love to have good area like that for a paint booth. Very clean work.
Amazing how you have utilised such a small space.
Sorry who are Sprock and Sam?
Very cool build.
Thank you for the input, it's getting returned.
