You stripped the screw... do some research and try to find a way that you can remove the stripped screw that will work in this situation.

Good Luck!

OT is extremely dead and honestly, the entire site feels dead as well. New topics are scarcely posted to each section (IMO) and I feel that it is taking a very long time for users to get a response.

I don't know if any Mods/Staff would be willing to disclose this information, but has the Aggregate # of Threads (Per Day/Week/Month/etc.) decreased from that of past years in a significant way? I am just curious.

Nobody. Trump was cappin' around with an Access Hollywood reporter in 2005 and made a crude joke.

Many people have come forward claiming to have had an affair with Trump, but it is obvious that they are just using the #MeToo Movement as a political weapon against him, and some of the people who accused him are under Federal investigation and probably lied about their interactions with Trump.

All of the people who claim to have had an affair with Trump or to have been assaulted by Trump have failed at accomplishing anything.

I am not describing it in the way that I believe it happened. If you look at my comment again, I was describing it in the way that several people have portrayed it to be to me. I obviously know that that is a gross oversimplification of hundreds of years of changes, and that is why I don't agree with that statement.

I just really don't think that the parties actually had ideological 'switches' as many believe.

I completely agree that gradual changes could definitely change a political party over hundreds of years. I just have a problem with the many, many people who believe that through Southern Strategy the Republican Party was able to convert all of the 'racist southern Democrats' into Republicans and simultaneously became the party of racism, bigotry, and discrimination in a matter of months.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Is conservatism inherently bad?"

Obviously I agree that all parties have changed. I am just unsure if the two major parties actually 'switched' views as most argue.

I do understand that the severe discrimination/racism that occurred and was prevalent in the US was only about 60-70 years ago, but I also think that by the mid-80s, a decently large majority of Americans (probably about 60%-70%) were opposed to discrimination/segregation.

Though I have my opinions, I am open to being convinced of another opinion. What evidence do you have that points in the direction of a party ideals switch? The reason that I believe what I do is because that is what I have interpreted from reading/researching.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Is conservatism inherently bad?"

  • 1 point

My interpretation is that after slavery/segregation wasn't really an issue anymore (When an overwhelming majority of Americans supported racial equality in), people in the South, who may have supported more laissez-faire policies (Which encourage the big business/industrialization that the South has always lacked compared to the North) began to further support Republican candidates. Even if Nixon did use the Southern Strategy, I don't think that that constitutes a shift of the ideals of the Democrat/Republican PARTIES, I think that it implies a shift of the ideals of the people in America (especially in the South) where Republican policies would be beneficial. I mean, many of the people in the South who supported slavery probably identified with the Democrat Party solely because of its opinions on slavery/segregation/discrimination, and may have decided to affiliate with the Republican Party once they no longer could advocate for racist policies.

"It's in the history books" is not substantial enough evidence. Also, the Republican Party has ALWAYS been pro-business, pro-Capitalist, pro-tariffs, etc. so how can you argue for a complete switch, let alone a switch at all?

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Is conservatism inherently bad?"

Just because the 'Southern Strategy' existed doesn't mean that there was a complete realignment of the two main political parties. I don't support Nixon whatsoever and while I do agree that he was probably willing to do anything to get votes (Such as implementing the Southern Strategy), I don't think that his actions should define an entire party. Plus I think that the support of segregation was based on geographical location, not political parties.

What is meant by "...because the Trump voters will turn out no matter what Trump does, whereas Democratic & Independent voters, especially young voters, are unlikely to vote for a Democratic candidate with horrible policies..."?

Hillary was a joke of a candidate, and if the many false allegations meant to destroy Trump's campaign didn't occur, he would've won the popular vote, too. How can you say that Republicans will vote for Trump no matter what when a significant amount of people said that they liked Trump but didn't necessarily like his mouth/non-PC Tweets?

The build that I created costs $665, so if you are willing to decrease performance you can stay within your price range.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/F9Gt7T

If you want to decrease the price, switch the GPU to an RX 580 and the CPU to an R5 1600.

Good luck, and keep in mind that my build doesn't have Windows 10 included since you didn't specify whether or not you needed a license.

'Triggered' is not an insult in this context. 'Triggered' liberals are liberals who get upset about minuscule things and are very pedantic, and I was saying that I would not call a certain type of liberals, who honestly are pretty annoying, inherently bad.

They made it so simple just to avoid failure. Though last year's video was absolutely atrocious, I at least appreciate that they put effort into it.

Also, they didn't mention that PewDiePie was the first content creator to reach 100,000,000 Subscribers, which is very sad.

Overall, they really did take the easy way out and I don't appreciate that. I wish that they would have at least tried to make an entertaining and interesting video, not just a compilation of statistics.
