No I was just wondering is it better to have 1 8GB rather than 2 4GB sticks
My rig isn't just for Gaming, I also use it for video rendering and 3d Modeling.
I like the idea of getting a Skylake but that would mean a more expensive motherboard, more expensive DDR4 Ram and a more expensive processor which all added up will cost a lot more.
Thanks, and yeah, my loose colour scheme which currently includes one dodgy red LED fan and a yellow GPU, soon to be orange GPU XD
Picked up a nice 250GB SSD for half price!!!
Yes its over-clocked to 4.1Ghz and I'm hoping to get a R9 280X or similar card. There are some games which I can change the graphical setting from maximum to minimum and get only 3 fps in difference.
Yes in programs which support all cores, things like rendering and image processing its great and I've over clocked my processor to 4.1ghz and yeah its a octacore but most games run with 1 or two cores with a few at 4.
I've got a friend with a GTX 760 and a top of the range i5 from a few years ago and he gets double my frame rate on cpu intensive games such as mmos, ARMA ect.
cheers but i went for the Benq GL2460
yes but for an apu stock cooler isnt gonna cut it
thanks, ive been building it for about 2 months tweaking bits and constantly getting advice
sorry i thought it was linked,
ii have a £300 budget plus os
yeah sorry the parts i have £300 to spend for plus os
great and all except its more expensive and some of the parts are unavailable to me
cheers, I think this may be it
so new case as well then ? haha
ah ok then thnx, any reconmendations on which one i should go for ?
ive got my current from 3.5 to a 4.1 and it stays around 35 even under full load
and i can run the games, i just want to run them better e.g. solid 60 at high rather than medium
ive already got the hyper evo 212
but im guessing they are alot more excpensive ?
i didnt read that anywhere but when i play it, my gpu never hits 100% usage where as my cpu gets maxed out instantly
world of tanks, Titan fall, also games with only 1 or 2 core support
ive got a gtx 760 which handles all the games i want at at least medium at 60fps but some more cpu intense games really struggle so i want to get an i5 then, but all the i5's need a motherboard update...
also is there anyway round the motherboard bios update with all the haswell refreshes ~? i dont have an old intel cpu laying aorund....
yeah im never gonna do editing or anything like 3d modeling so a top end i5 would cut it ?
I have the FX 8320 and it runs at 4.1Ghz stable, used to be able to run at 4.5Ghz but under full load it crashes
and i know i cant handle alot of cpu intensive games because things like titanfall and even world of tanks really struggle and the gpu sits at around 70% useage
yeah the motherboard has known problems with power distributiuon and noise when i plug a usb in, im not after audiophile equpitment its just to fix the sine wave i get when using the 5.1 interface
yeah the motherboard has known problems with power distributiuon and noise when i plug a usb in, im not after audiophile stuff, i just want to stop the anoying sine wave it has
i cant hear it over my graphics cards fans put it that way, its almost silent even at full speed. If you did get the 212 i would suggest getting a second fan for so you have an intake and outtake on the heatsink
CPU cooler is WAYYYYY overpriced... Ive got a £22 Hyper evo 212 and that thing can handle i7-4770K's
i probbally will go for it
im not fussed if it looks pretty on the inside as long as it runs well
well i saw at least 5 or 6 videos of peoples computers just coverd in the liquid and kinda made me a little paranoid
trouble is i dont want to mess with water inside my pc, ive heard about even closed circuits leaking and i cant afford to replace stuff, are they really safe?
as in 400fps increase and yeah... i got ripped of for my tv
40 fps is play able but with this reolution streched across 32 inches, whislt im sitting only 3ft away isnt very nice, playable but not very enjoyable, so i just crank the settings down from max to high, i never have to go below medium for a game,
The monitor im aiming at is the BenQ GW2450HM LED Monitor, 19201080 4ms response times and 24" for £130 is very good, also a side note, games like GTA IV and Borderlands 2 run a HELL of a lot better when i force it to run at 19201080, i belive there are some downscaleing issues with some games especailly with a fairly low and uncommon reloution
yeah my tv only runs at a native reolution of 1360*768 which on a 32 inch monitor is straining and ugly to look at, the GTX 760 is good and it handles anything from 2013 on max and new games e.g. metro last light and battlefield 4 on max ( with no phsyx ) at 40fps
i got the template off someone else and just tweaked the case and gpu
im just saving up for some decent monitors then a new gpu and finally a 5.1 surronud sound system and i will have my complete mancave
i LOVE it, nothing it cant run at least on medium
well I know the 270x can do crossfire but that's only 2 cards and im a fanboy of AMD CPU's yet I like the GPU boost 2.0 and that recording software which barley touches performance, that's what sways me, as well as the GTX 760 hawk looks pretty cool
hehe well I only just upgraded my laptop's hdd from 250 GB to 750 GB so im going to salvage that for pics and a over backup drive as well
im already scrounging some 6 year old optical drive of an old pc XD just to save the $20
only problem being that the R9270 even the R9270x is that they are both slower and don't have as good coolers, also the GTX 760(hawk) can do 3 way sli which I will be looking into around summer time
yeah your lucky with your lack of tax and amazing black Friday deals :)
yeah ive never seen that sorta thing in the UK :/
