thank you for your comment! the mobo is actually very nice. i said cpu is OCd to 3.9ghz, but its actually 3.6ghz the cooler i have is a beast and keeps my cpu running at some nice temperatures. the board is optamized for crossfire or sli and has i think 4 pci 16x slots. let me explain the name.....i like muffins, and i couldnt to think of a better name so.....yah :D yes the cable managment is terrible, but if you think this is bad check out my other build! https://pcpartpicker.com/b/XxKZxr

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Gaming PC opinion wanted ~$900 budget"

this build may go a bit over budget, but you will be happy that you decided to upgrade. with that board and cooler, you can do some serious overclocking. that gpu will defiantley increase your performance over the 970. good luck with the build! :D

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Gaming PC opinion wanted ~$900 budget"

also, at microcenter you could get an i5 4690k for about the same price as the 4440, but much higher performance. that is if you are willing to drive to microcenter

i would suggest an asus board such as the ASUS Z97-E for about $110 dollars, but msi or gigabyte are still good motherboards.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Gaming PC opinion wanted ~$900 budget"

this is a pretty solid build, but that motherboard is pretty crappy if you spend the extra 30-40 you could get a b85 motherboard, and for 50 more dollars you could get a z97, but the b85 will offer best price/performance. if you upgrade the board, change the ram to a dual channel kit. otherwise very nice build you could run witcher 3 at about 40-60 fps in high settings if you do upgrade the board, i owuld suggest the MSI B85-G41 PC Mate. it is a very reliable boad with lots of features they un fortunatley dont overclock well, but if you want to overclock in the future you would have to cough up almost 100 dollars for a z87-z97 and an aftermarket cooler
