Yes, I custom 3-D printed a de-lid tool at my milling shop. There are a plethora of options out there though, an acquaintance of mine bought one on ebay for $20 US and it works like a charm.
This is a work of art! +1 When it comes to your concerns of de-lidding, the benefits do heavily outweigh negatives. I was able to achieve a stalbe 5.0Ghz overclock at 1.35v with an idle of 24 degrees C and a max load of 57. Prior to my de-lidding, at the same frequency and voltage I had 35 degree idle and 83 degrees under load. A huge drop in temps, definitely worth trying!
I smell.... a feature..... +1 for most versatile case
Those pics are vuri niceeeee
+1 For the Deathstalker. The best Chiclet gaming keyboard out there. Also, you got a sweet build.
Mahallo my dude, I like that you're still representing the Kepler architecture. Mad respect. +1
Many thanks, glad you like it. The GPU is a monster.
Hey there, great build! I want just curious, how do you like the Deathstalker? I'm looking to transition to a non-mechanical keyboard.
Despite popular opinion, I think the combo of dark metal, gray and black colors with those brown noctuas rocks.
Love the ROG theme, good stuff. If your temps for the 7700k are a little high, try de-lidding it and applying a higher end thermal compound between the heat spreader and the silicon die. I have a 7700k running @ 5.0Ghz at 1.30v, and it idled at 37 degrees celsius. After de-lidding, it now idles at 25 degrees celsius. Under load, it used to peak at 92, now it peeks at 70 (Prime95 & AIDA64). I have a Corsair H115i for reference.
+1 for the Phanteks case!
Makes Ohio state logo
Covers it with side panel
Nice build though ;)
Answer. I removed the optical drive simply because I had no need for it, but it will fit. If you have a radiator that is larger than 280mm however, I reckon it will not fit.
+1 for the Phanteks case, excellent choice!
Great build +1 for the Phanteks Case
Great paint job! +1 for the Phanteks case
+1 for the Enthoo Pro M! Fantastic case
Great GPU! I have the same, it's a monster. +1
Nice and clean, great cable management. +1
Yes it is possible. I thought about doing that with this motherboard, but I really like the color scheme so I decided against it. I believe it also voids the warranty of your motherboard, so there's another reason against it.
My only gripe with those is the clear-ish fan blades. Corsair is releasing new fans soon so maybe some upadted SP 140's will be my new fans of choice.
Thank you! Cheers
No worries! :} When it comes to reviews I always like to formulate my own perspective, for example the AOC monitor I bought. I had read far too many bad reviews, but despite that feedback I purchased it and couldn't be happier. Thank you :]
Thank you so much for the comment! It's much appreciated.
This "honest fact" is purely your opinion mate. I respect the fact that you don't like Linus. Congrats! I'm thinking of buying you a medal. :) I like Linus because he does interesting things like custom painting motherboards and cutting parts apart. So while I think he for sure has changed since he's blown up, I don't necessarily think it's for the worse.
These websites that sell keys that cheaply usually apprehend them with stolen credit cards. With these cards they buy hundreds or even thousands of keys directly from Microsoft, and then sell them through different vendors. This action unfortunately stimulates a fraud based economy. The websites offer no information to the purchase location or vendor of the key, so the consumer only sees the cheap price tag. OEM keys can only be bought and installed on one singular computer, since Microsoft assumes you are the pc manufacturer when you purchase an OEM key. According to many people, the OEM keys cannot be transferred from motherboard to motherboard, however others have reported that they have used one key on different computers. Diversity is very interesting.
+1 For the awesome Phanteks case!
Great name for your build! +1
Thank you! Yeah I know it's nothing flashy, but I like the simplistic look of it :]
Thank you! Yes indeed, I was pondering the idea but I don't like the clear look of the Corsairs, do you have any suggestions for SP fans aside from the Corsair ones?
Great color scheme! +1
These cables are so tamed they make house animals seem aggressive +1
Thank you my friend!
I was thinking of doing something like that, do you recommend the WD Blacks, or should I use SSD's?
And thank you for your feedback, my sin has been successfully absolved!
There are various websites around the internet that sell them for low prices. However, some keys may not be legitimate, but contacting Microsoft is always an option. They were friendly and solved my problem quickly. My description of the OS was censored thanks to PCPartPicker (I had no intention of ANY kind of biased or endorsement I was simply telling other users about my experience). I hope my comment is reinstated so that you can read about my experience.
Yes indeed! I didn't want to pay $800+ dollars for a 1080 (for anybody that's wondering), so this was a tremendous solution. Excellent video card to say the least!
Thank you very much! :]
He may be biased at times, but I enjoy watching all kinds of tech videos regardless of sponsorship or endorsement.
I agree, however my temps are fine and I didn't research enough to find any decent SP fans aside from Noctua, which are quite expensive. Any suggestions?
I consider this post a confession ;)
I was thinking about pushing the chip further, however 4.5 was my goal and since I achieved that I think I might just keep it. But tinkering will happen in the future :)
