This by far out performs my $500 pc. You sir, are a genius, I however cannot believe the price of this pc. Also, if it's okay with you, I may have to steal your idea on this pc's hardware for my next build. Love it. +1

I see. Linux isn't bad, especially for budget builds or if you don't plan to game a lot. I used to use ubuntu and loved it until I started gaming...but nice spare parts build! Love it!

Yeah haha without the classic shell, win 8 is very user unfriendly. I have yet to put it on my xps 12.

For web browsing, and minecraft...sure is alot of cpu power. Why not go with an AMD fx-6100 or fx-6300? much cheaper and have near the same clock speed.

You've got a point, but also, if he does ever upgrade for anything, he will probably need to upgrade the PSU. But yeah, your'e right, he won't need much for now.

That CPU though..wow. That is a beast. Let me know how that GPU performs on games...I'm in a bind on deciding on a new GPU.

Where do I start? The OS is good...hdd and sdd are good. The ram is really good. The processor is great and the MOBO isn't to bad. But, the one thing about this, is you can NEVER skimp out on the power supply. If your power supply fails because you cheaped out on it, it will kill everything else you've got. Then you've got to start over. Just a fact.

no, the cpu and the ram can handle it, but the gpu is WAY to low for it. I will be getting hopefully some new ram and an Nvidia 700 series gpu within the next month or so. But yeah its really hard to tell, but i have stuff underneath it all, the only thing that was touching the carpet was the psu. I was using a clear sheet of hard plastic. (bad camera quality)

good god the ram and psu is excessive...yes i see that it was stated before, but i suppose if youve got the cash...go big or go home.

Ohhh, I see, I'm only a designer, not an editor. I design websites and such, and that doesn't require a whole lot in a PC.

I see, and to be honest, I don't have a high budget, but if I did, I probably would go with the 760 myself, it'll play any game you throw at it and supports 4 monitors i believe. (I'd only use 3 just to be safe)and you'll also be set for the next couple of years. If you're looking for a modern card for like BF4? The 660 will do just fine. But again, you dont want to throw out $150-$200 a year do you?

I play skyrim, with my 6 core amd clocked at 3.5ghz (don't quote me i know its between 3.4-3.6) and have other processes going on, on my other screen, and my cpu does just fine!

yeah definitely need a new gpu! It plays skyrim on low quality, my cpu seems to do just fine though. and thanks!! I think it was less than $450 or so.

Looks Great! But for the money, why not go with an 8-core AMD processor with a higher clock speed? Nothing wrong with the intel you have..I just don't like the prices of intel. Otherwise, great build!!!

Just adding on again, that this build did not cost anywhere near what it says in the total, alot of this came from my moms work, where they throw out monitors, keyboards, mice, etc. I think it came in under $500.

I'm commenting to all, the Hard drives, and disc drive, were all free. As well as the monitor, mouse, keyboard, and graphics card. My family isn't rich, but were not poor. I wanted this PC for like a starter PC, I know what it can and can't do. It does everything I want it to do. Because of course, I play guitar and enjoy recording and editing myself. This works AMAZINGLY for that. I can say that I am satisfied with this build, and as I get more builds, I'll gladly update my profile. Thank you to all of your positive feedback. It really boosted my confidence in building this, I'm going to be getting another 4-8gb of ram soon. But thanks again!

Lol, they were free man, my mom works in an IT department and picked them up, they just bought them new, and had decided to switch to 1tb drives instead, and she brought me these.

I have almost the exact build. But with an nvidia geforce, i have 2 western digital hard drives, 750gb total. I also added my own disc drive. but all-in-all, this computer you have built, its pretty good. but like the other guy said, SAVE YOUR MONEY!! if you can get another $200-$300, youll have a computer thatll last you 3 years without expensive upgrades. but i have advice, get a wireless card. they actually are really good if you arent close to your router. if you do have more questions, message me. (also, other cases are better. more fans are the best!)
