RGB for days!!! Ditch those consoles, pc's the way to go. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/tV29TW
I just went from an 8350 with the same MB and a 970 and was having issues pushing game graphics and struggled with a lot of crashes when peaks were reached. 1060 is solid, but the cpu has to go, as well as the MB, which means you'll probably have to run DDR4. This is cool for older, less demanding games. But don't expect much. Would be great for a home office build for your parents or something. :p
A 1060 will work its magic, especially since he's running an i7. Going to a 1080 is a huge price jump but sell the 970 and a 1060 will only cost you $100. Save the 1080 for when you're making six figures....
Prices aren't going to drop. Hook it up with a 1060 while they're bottomed out. 1080's are always going to be a paycheck's worth I think. Great first build tho, awesome job.
This desk setup is legit...
Upgrade that video card and you'll be set!
This thing is out of control. :D
You should put it on one of those four legged robots that walk around and you can't kick over. It'll just stroll around your room and hang out with the Roomba.
I love rgb.
The biggest of anime tiddies.
This PC is Ultra Instinct...
low level monsters used for leveling...
I've also been waiting on the 1060's to come down as I slowly pull my new build during sales. Preferably I would like to wait until they are back down in the $260 area but I'm worried that they won't go that low again. Everything has to drop soon right? I would really like to spend a little extra to get a 1080 but I can't justify dropping $900 on a gpu.
Am I correct to say that I should be able to make a windows disc and activate MS with an account login? Also, I thought about adding a cheaper gpu.
