I send the G1 back and got the Republic of gamers ROG Astrix Card. ( Still 1080 though). I love this card. So much better.
i have a https://pcpartpicker.com/product/fFGj4D/lg-monitor-25um56p monitor.
Before buying the monitor i loved everything about ultra wide monitors on paper. However now, after using it for about 2 weeks i am like " meh, i prefer the more traditional screen". On paper it felt great because you get this slightly wide view when viewing and can open multiple web pages on Chrome and feels like it is easier to read them but the reality of the matter is everytime i am gaming on my above mentioned monitor, it feels like the screen is not big enough when compared to my more traditional 25 inch screen. Some people say it takes a while to get used to it. For me, i am waiting for any good black friday deals and i might get another 27 inch normal screen.
However if you are sure you want to get a ultra wide monitor then my above mentioned screen is definitely something to consider. It is only 25 inch but if you want a bigger one then i believe LG has a similar model with a larger screen( 27 inch i believe). It is also relatively cheaper.
Hope that helps.
N.B: I bought the above monitor for around 130-150 dollars ( cant remember) when it was on sale. If you plan on getting my monitor, i would suggest you wait till next friday, incase they lower the price again for black friday sale.
Yeah, I figured it might be beneficial for someone who might be using any of the parts that I have and wanted to get a better look at it
Yeah i know about the dust part and i am working on a cust "Sock" filter on it.
Surprisingly, because of how big the case is ( its kind of hard to see from the pic), there is plenty of space between the rear fan and the CPU cooler fan. I used one of those essence sticks to see how much of a suction there is and it wasnt bad at all and on top of that it seems as if my CPU and System temps are really cool.
I will flip around the rear fan and see how that affects the temperature one of theese days. Will post an update once i do it. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Thanks a lot :)
Hmmm.. i did not realize that untill you pointed it out to me. Thank you for doing so. Will definitely be enabling XMP later on today. Thanks again.
it wasnt part of my original design, just something that happened along the way.
Lol !! Yeah its a temporary fix..
I am not sure if you are serious or sarcastic but the reason why i got the GTX1080 is because i plan on using a higher resloution 4K monitor but i couldnt afford it at the moment. So i figured i will invest on the Card first and then someday in the future get a 4k monitor. The LG monitor that i have was only 130 odd dollars hence went for it.
Will do sir !
Thanks man. Appreciate it. Will change the title to correct the spelling too :)
Thanks for the reply man. Appreciate you taking the time to do so. I wont start building my rig untill the first week of november so i have some time before then. I am still getting my parts in. I think i am going to try both the configurations ( left to right and top to bottom) and see which yields better temperatures.
Why did you install the noctua cooler sidewise(horizontally) as opposed to vertically as most people do? I have seen a few other builds were it was installed like the way you did. I am just wondering if there are any advantages of doing it that way. I am building a new rig myself and have the noctua cooler too. Just wanted to make sure i make the most out of the cooler
Thanks in advance
awesome rig man !! Well done man !
You should put up more pics..
How's that 850 evo m.2 SSD card working for you? I am buying parts for a new build and am thinking of getting that SSD for my OS. What's your opinion on it? What kind of boot times are you getting at the moment on it?
Is there much space between the Noctua cooler and the graphics card? Was it hard to install the graphics card after putting in the cooler. I am thinking of getting the EVGA 1070 card (similar size as yours) and have the Noctua d15 cooler. I am worried if the cooler is too big and might push against the card?
Love the look of your build. Awesome specs too. That table though... Love the look of it. Is that just the lighting of the photo or does the colour of the table and the desktop wallpaper match?
Yeah i did take a closer look and i think you are right. I think i am going to go ahead and order the M5. Wont be buildint the PC untill late Octorber but will definitely post the pics up. Cheers !
Ok thanks. I am still leaning towards m5 as I can't find another motherboard within my price range with all the specs I need. Thanks for all the help.
Thanks a lot for that detailed reply. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. I am also getting a m.2 slot ssd card which goes just before the first pcie slot so I am thinking it will be a bit tight on space there for me. I am going to do some more research and also look at some more motherboards before making up my mind. Once again, thanks for your response.
Nice build. Quick question , Looks like the second 120mm fan in front of the case is blocked partially by the front of the case. Are you noticing any airflow restrictions because of that?
I am thinking of getting the NZxt 820 ( which is basically what you have, just a little bit bigger). Its got a big 140mm fan in the front, i am debating if i should replace that with 2 120mm fans like you have. Just concerned if the front of the case will block the air flow as the front/mesh seems to only cover one fan.
Is that really a NZXT 820 case? It looks like the NZXT 630 case, did you mod it or was that a mistake in the description?
Nice build eitherway...
I am thinking of building a similar build with the nocturnal d15 cup cooler on the same motherboard as yours. I will be getting the gtx1070 too. I am worried about having space issues after reading your experience. Is it that hard to get the gtx1070 on the motherboard? My d15 cooler is slightly larger than your d14 cooler, do you think I will have issues installing it?
Thanks for that !
I am thinking of getting the same case. I am also thinking of adding in an extra fan at the Baotou like your u have. It looks cool. Which one is it? Also, did you swap out the original case fans in the front? The ones you have look awesome. What are they?
love the look of the whole system. +1
Thanks for the reply. I wonder if moving the fan farther out has a negative impact on the cooling. If you havent noticed any issues then i guess its fine. Thanks again !
Thanks for the help. I will look into the case you mentioned. As far as the power supply goes, I read online that it is always better to get a higher power supply to make it future proof.
I never gave much thought about aesthetics untill now. I will have to look into that. Like I said , I am new to pc building.
I was more concerned about the specs but after reading your comment I feel like I should do some research on led lighting or something along that line. I might try and see if i can get an additional led fan.
I am building a similar ( same CPU, CPU cooler ,RAM and Graphics card). I was wondering if you had any space issues with the RAM and the gigantic Noctua NH D 15 coolers?
Awesome Build by the by !
Really cool build man !
