the low price vendors are just spam, they just want your email address
My Veteran husband thanks you even though he is too busy playing Diablo to look at eh photos right now :)
This was a fun post to read :)
for reference, I am buying the same card used in Maine for $150 after it sat on CL for a month at $180.
The 1050 ti will be better, but as others have said, if you can get into a GTX 1060 3GB or a RX470/480, that would be ideal and you will be playing at high/ultra
I think that is a good match however, take a look at the newer 845. Seems to have better performance at a lower price.
its at the end of the list as other since I has to add as custom part.
this has a 1060 3GB card. Yes this build is a very capable gaming rig. If building something similar, I'd try for a little better CPU but I have not had any concerns with this one. Most i5's excel at gaming, even older ones like the 2400.
wish I had used my gaming name of Deathwife for a username . Are there not many 50 YO females on this site??
ah OK :)
can you explain what the difference is here. Seems like the P version has lower clock, lower integrated graphics and higher TPD and costs more.
Not trying to be wise, I truly do not understand this.
it's just a random product ID number, means nothing since I have not purchased windows 10. I just downloaded the ISO from Microsoft.
I see why you would say that since there is nothing to show off in the case, in fact it is ugly in there. The case seemed interesting, wanted to try it. As it turns out the only thing you can really see on the inside is the blue led fan which is kind of neat. Just hard to show that in photos.
wondering if he was going to say: a 6GB 1060. The reason for the 3GB is that I wanted to be in specific budget for resale. The added $70 for a 6GB would have put me $70 over :)
actually these stay pretty cool, never really get over 55c on stock, nothing like the FXs
hit or miss, weekends are busy so your post could get lost in the shuffle, weekdays are less busy but maybe not as much traffic either. Sometimes I get 30 likes, other times I get 4 :)
that case is too cute :) Any more pics of the completed interior build??
This is a great looking build. You must have posted it at an odd time to only get 17 likes. I just gave you one more :)
EVGA has always given me excellent customer service. Send it back for RMA. It should be free shipping both ways due to this issue.
Or return it for a refund to where you bought it (newegg premier has free shipping on returns) and buy a different card if you simply cannot wait.
I have a 6600k and a 1060 6GB. I play ultra at 70-80 FPS @ 1080p. 1440p is more like 40-50 fps. As you know the game is poorly optimized, at least survival is. I know the devs put a lot more effort into the KOTK so it may run much more smoothly.
Not married to any particular part here, was opting to keep on budget and include shipping, no rebates either.

well I might be buying this back soon so I will fix her up and post some new pics :)
if you plan to upgrade to 1440p or 4k get the 8GB, otherwise the 4Gb will be fine.
I actually agree with the cable management. Though "the worst " is a little harsh. Though there is not much space behind the mobo to stuff anything. Since there is no window, I was more focused on airflow than looks. If you look through my other builds, you'll see much better things!!
you won't max out graphics with the 6100/1060 3gb combo but your games will look very nice with minor adjustments to certain settings. I have the 1060 3GB in 2 set up with older intel cpu and gameplay is beautiful, just not ultra max on all settings.

This one was recorded with MSI AB so the cpu use is way higher than normal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILvmvz-krKI
very nice choices +1
love the budget build! will perform very nicely for the $$

much fun :)
nikon d3200 with circa 1990 nikkor 60mm micro lens
Thanks. I enjoy finding the good deal as much as the build :)
I like that your builds focus on low cost and unique/modded finishes. Also I am a big fan of mini itx. I never seem to find the great deals on used mini parts though.
I am using a old nikon 60mm Micro lens (manual focus even!). On the d3200 it is probab;y more like an 80-90mm focal length which give a little telephoto compression.
The images are very much sharper than they are with the standard crappy zoom lens that comes with the camera. I got for $40 free shipping from KEH.com in mint condition this past spring.
geesh, I think your builds are clever and fantastic. Many of yours should be featured!
I don't think so, this is the second time I have used it and both are identical. Might be that the lens is slightly telephoto.
from the "creepy things in my backyard collection " lol
Old Lady but who is counting?? Thanks :)
yes but local Maine only
good to know, thanks!
