love the reasoning for going with the 2080 Super while waiting for a 5700XT lol. How does it feed the monitor while gaming? I want to go with 3440x1440p and hope this would be enough at 100+ Hz as well
that would be awesome if that was true! I really enjoy the show.
wait...did it get cancelled? I'll be upset if true. I heard they were accurate to the books so I suppose I could just read those. (lol reading)
EPIC I'm pretty pumped. I maintain and do a bit to my own bike but this could prove to be a very useful tool
Hey man, checked out your account, seems you want to learn about good builds or whatnot for possible future upgrades to your 'potato' haha If you have any questions message me or really anyone here who has a build you seem to like; people are usually pretty helpful when it comes to this stuff :)
yeah mate, I'm about to graduate and have a job lined up to start in December. I WILL be upgrading my already-decent build, but I'm talking like $2500 worth of upgrades. Don't get me wrong, $2500 worth of upgrades is a lot of money! This guy is making serious money (hopefully) from this build so it's completely justified.
Anyone else like "The Expanse"?
daayumm 64GB RAM? You do any photo/video editing? I can say Premiere Pro seems to use all of my 16GB haha.
How does this perform with Fortnite? I assume he's playing at 1080p.
Builds like this make me wish there was a parallel to pulling up to someone who thinks your sleeper is slow at a stoplight or something and getting to surprise them. But with PCs we just don't get to show them off like sleeper cars haha. Sweet sleeper, the archaic stickers on the front really keep it genuine.
UPDATE: This build now is using a Gagabyte 990FX Rev 5 motherboard I got on ebay for $50 and has 12gb of RAM. With the beefier mobo I removed those janky fans that were sitting on my GPU and VRMs and it looks much better. Replaced the LEDs with Cold Cathode lights for a more even, warmer lighting.
I WILL BE upgrading this build to a Ryzen 5 1600X with an MSI X370 Carbon Pro with 16GB of 3000Mhz RAM within the next 2 weeks! Super excited that i'll keep my H105; can't wait to see if I can manage 4.00Ghz with that cooler.
I wouldn't say poor, as long as it works the way you want, then that's perfect. Afterall, it's your build! :) I mean, just look at my build, there's so poor choices in there haha (FX-6350 with a 290X Lightning)
maybe not...still at the budget for this build I would just feel more comfortable with the 6600K. Interesting how this was done, but nonetheless, for gaming, that CPU will do just fine. The graphics card will push all of those pixels, but with more monitors, doesn't really come the need for TOO much more CPU power, if that makes since.
Love that case! Well done on the whole thing!
aww great but not a 4790k? just $30 more. oh well still a powerful system :D
Sweet this is actually really nice if I needed to shop for one of these; you can make sure to get a really low price!
got a single 290X Lightning....MSI makes some beast cards and motherboards. Nice build man!
nice quality budget build. I built a theorhetical one with this CPU for $510 and a 960. I assumed the user would find an old Dell or HP case and went with about a $50 mobo and not nearly as nice of fans haha. 2 notcuas? dang
really spoiling that FX-6300. It's okay, so did I
I thought he meant another 290X as in the 295x2 being 2 Hawaii 290X cores. if not. wow
like, you could buy the PS3 for less than the price of those fans #PCmasterrace :D
yeah so true. I get it for somewhere with expensive power bills, but most of America is relatively cheap
yeah I replaced that huge one with a smaller Masscool 50mm which is actually very quiet (for now). it's just hot-glued to the bottom to mounting screws of the H105 and doesn't touch the gpu; looks much cleaner now. but the VRMs are what made a big difference. cooling those let my fps be much more consistent in-game.
Ahh if it says it supports the 2x 140, the 140 would be much better. I know the top looks sortof funny with my 120 and a bunch of extra space haha. i just measured too the fan filter opening in the front seems it would support it. However, some people online say the 2x120 would be better since there are few 140mm fans that do well on radiators...IDK if this is true. Jayztwocents' beuild Skunkworks V3 is using all 120mm rads and he's got like 3 rads in his build where price isn't an issue so maybe the 120 does better. STILL, the article I read about this was from 2010 and I'm sure there's some great Static pressure 140mm fans, like the Corsair SP 140s those are some nice ones. Good luck and happy building!
Ahh i got you. Same for my build, like a lot of it was done in 2013 but I had been upgrading. Hadn't published the build until this year otherwise I wouldn't have used the FX-6350
nice! I may just buy one as well :D
nice build! nice fan controller and sleeved cables. good touch. BUT, for a $350 you could just get a 970 which is a great card, despite its memory limitation. I use a 290X right now and really think those 970s are decent cards. It would run a lot cooler and be a bit better at what you're doing. Still, the 770 is nothing to laugh at, it's like the 970 but just last gen. Nice build
Oh yeah that's tempting....only like $3
:( my FX-6350 will only clock to 4.4 ghz with Windows 8.1
Nice build man, if this is really your first you did much better than I did with parts haha. Enjoy it!
Yeah I thought about that. I was then convinced to just wait for Broadwell K or Skylake and get a new mobo also...we'll see. Right now I'm low on funds and about to go into semester 2 of freshman year at college. maybe this summer if the 8350 comes down insanely in price I'll get one :)
uhhh....yeah. I've got a twist tie hoding upright. pretty lame. I bought a small 60MM fan to actually put on the NB heatsink. Should be here soon. As for the desk, my sister's bf is getting rid of his old computer desk. He also had a 2 monitor setup with it and it's not in too bad of shape so that's hopeful haha
You should definitely get a 780 Lightning or 290X Lightning...they're made for tht mobo man!
Well done. Do it right the first time or not at all. ;D
not sure why so many people disliked this. It's a nice setup except the CPU is a little hot in my opinion.
